1986 Skoda Estelle

My project Skoda Estelle is for sale, it's really quite solid, there's a small amount of rust on one rear arch but no real rot.
It's currently a non runner due to a stuck cam follower but I do have a a spare engine for the car so getting it running shouldn't be too much of an issue
71k miles
No mot and will need transported.

That looks incredibly tidy. A bit of sandpaper, krust and a rattle can will have that body sorted in no time. I reckon if this went on sale to the general public, this would probably end up going eastwards.

Going by Dollywobblers comments about Estelle, he should be all over this. He's got plenty of experience of swapping over engines now...!

Engine swaps on these are easier than more conventionally laid out cars too, even if you're only armed with a trolley jack and basic tools.

GLWTS, not that you'll really need it.  This one looks like a little gem in the making for someone with a bit of time to do it, which sadly isn't me.  I've got fond memories of these from when we had one as a family car back in the 90s.

+1 Vulg

Totally hammered my 130LSE, then Rapid. Absolute 'hoonmobiles'.

I jumped in to one straight after having my 998 Imp totalled [fitting inertia reels was my lifesaver].... I just carried on driving using valve bounce as my change point.

*Totally grand!

*starter motor excepted

Guest X100_shooter

I'm seriously tempted... my first car was one of these (B866KFG) which I gave away in 1995 - almost the same shade of blue too.

It's times like this I wish I had a garage. And a ramp. And some mechanical knowledge. And £800ono. And a transporter.

I'd love another Estelle - my dalliance with the standard orange/vinyl number (C205GFM) was all too brief.

Really hope this baby blue beaut stays in the fold.

And for the benefit of X100_shooter - yes, Get It (Fucking) Bought - GIFB (will direct you to the Autoshite lexicon in due course)

I'll have a few weeks off work over Christmas so perhaps I'll find the time to get it running.

My ally spare went straight into the front boot... Bit of old carpet looped round it. I went to 185-13 on the rear and 175/70-13 on the front to remove the 'preying mantis' profile

Rapids lose their rear arches quicker than saloons... Poor seal on rear window allows cascades into rear arch seam :(

That's well tidied than my last one - which I stupidly paid two grand for before I'd had time to talk myself out of it. Granted, it was local to me so I equated that to actually about £1500 in actual money as I didn't need to trek to the other end of the country to get it.

Sodding thing was a problem child the whole time I had it. Shame as it was lovely when it was working!

This looks like it could really scrub up to be an A1 example with a bit of work.
