What vehicle/s do you really want?

By looking at the lists I reckon there's the potential for group owning of some of these cars, especially for most of us where the prices have headed north. It would require some thinking in terms of location of members, storage and maintenance costs but nothing beyond the realms of possibility.

Good call; never had the opportunity but apparently they were all a good steer.

If you've driven a Samba, Visa or LNA you've driven a 104 that has been tweaked. Excellent motors on the road, quite comfy for a city car.

The 205 was a effectively 104 with the 305's torsion beam rear suspension to make it even sharper on the road. It was later widened to make the 309 and 306, all excellent handling cars.

Not driven a 204 or 304, but they're both pretty little motors, effectively twins - same chassis, same engines, the 304 had a longer nose.

Plus I like old Peugeots.

I'll stick to cars that are already or might just be about within my budget one day i.e. cheap.

BMW E36

Lexus LS400

Jaguar XJ6 /300

Jaguar S Type

VW Phaeton

Mercedes W220 S Class

Diesel Mercedes W124

Mercedes W140

Renault 19

Less affordable and likely just a pipe dream would be:

Something British, affordable and from the 1950s, perhaps a Hillman Minx.

Triumph Toledo or 1300 FWD

Renault 12

Renault 6

Renault 4

Fiat 132

Alfa Romeo Alfa 6

Early 1980s Alfa Romeo Guilietta

Datsun Bluebird 180B

Datsun Cherry 100A or F11

Datsun Cedric from the 1970s or early 1980s

MG Metro

I will add a Peugeot 104, 204 & 304 to my list

I've had a 304 (van), it was streets ahead of the Bedford HA I had at the same time.

I'm still waiting to pounce on anyone who says PT Cruiser. There must be someone here.

Me.  I've had one (that I paid retail for) and would be delighted to do it again.

Valiant Charger if money was no option then an R/T with the Bathurst tank.

Ford Falcon Coupe, may as well have a GT (most of them seem to be these days) either an XA with the RPO83 options (where they used up the hot bits after the 150mph super cars scare) or one of the Bathurst special build XC cobras.

Droop snoot 2 door viva in rat black on weller wheels preferably running a V8 with zoomie pipes, with a jack up kit at the rear for the rodded in the 70s/80s look.

Obscure trials bikes a plenty to add to the collection.

RD350LC with all the period tuning bits, I could never afford one when they were less expensive and the 250DX I had instead was a massive disappointment

Stupid big bore MX bike with sidecar.

Sidecar trials outfit.......

May as well add a housebus and a plot of land with some woods whilst I'm dreaming....

I entirely forgot that I also want an Alfa Romeo 1750/2000  Berlina (1750 preferred), a BMW 3.0 Si

and a BMW Baroque Angel.

It says 'vee-hickles' in the title, so I add a Tucker Sno Cat, a Unimog 404, a DKW  Munga, a Kaiser Jeep CJ5

and most of all a Lanz Bulldog to the list.

Also some Australian chod, in particular a 5.7 litre Holden HQ Monaro.

The question is tricky to answer as it depends what I've clapped eyes on recently that has taken my fancy. At the moment I fancy an A40 Somerset (my dad had one) and a Consul that a local classic dealer has in stock. Both are too old/frail/expensive to be serious contenders. I also quite fancy a Fiat Uno, no idea why. And an MX5, the MGB (been there, done it) of the 21st century.

Thinking about it again there are some cars I really want to own one day.

Series 3 XJ6

First gen MX5

Volvo 850 Turbo, normal T5 will do, preferably a Manual.

Some sort of Turbo Kei car.

Original Saab 900

Carina II (Corona), love these but I guess Corolla is just a smol version anyway.

Datsun 100a

Any sort of affordable 1970's car to be fair.

Any sort of affordable 1980's car too to be honest.

And that is why I said my list usually get scary long sometimes.

What do I really want?

I have a Stellar now so that is off the list. My top five then, in no particular order;

Yue Loong Feeling.

FSO Polonez - an MR87, in red, on Wellers.

Proton Saga. Has to be an 8 valve saloon with no PAS.

Hyundai Pony Gold Medal (to go with the Stellar).

A really nice, not rotten Senator 3.0i.
