The main list is below in my signature, but I'd also like a Peugeot 504 coupe V6 and a Citroen DS23.

Don't care too much about colour or number of doors, provided it has a manual gearbox.

Dream shite.

Talbot Sunbeam - Shove-it - Viva HC - Samba - Triumph Dolly - Triumph 2000 - Avenger - Pug 205 with a suitcase engine - AEC Mammoth Major - Hillman Hunter - Allegro - another Simca would be nice as well - Pug 309 with a Poissy engine - Routemaster

There's loads I'd like to own, but realistically, at the arse end of the market;

Peugeot 106 diesel.

MG F/TF

406 with HDI lump

Rover R8 Diesel

X300 Jag

Toyota Avensis MK2 (T250)

Lexus LS

Citroen BX

Citroen ZX

Citroen C15

Citroen Berlingo Multispace

Jaguar S-Type

MK1 Bini Cooper S

Citroen C5

Smart Roadster

Fuck me, that's a grim list.

1970's Opel Ascona 1.9SR - I had a 1.6S estate and it was a great car apart from the carb problems

Jaguar XJ12C - probably a hang over from seeing the Broadspeed racers

Mk2 Golf GTi - I had to get rid of mine when my first son was born as we were short of cash - the 1st Gulf War had just quadrupled the cost of oil for our central heating. I still tell him about this now - 27 years on - I think he's got a bit pissed off with it now though.

I put up a list of dream motors in another thread but I'd happily just settle for a Rover P6 2200TC or 3500S preferably in monza red. My total lack of mechanical knowledge or having the skills to make sure I didn't buy a pile of scrap that looked decent is the stumbling block though alas.

My list changes every time the wind changes but mainstays are everything I wanted when I was 15;

Impreza P1 or late 2 door STI

Escort Cosworth

Delta Integrale Evo II

Then bit older

Range Rover V8 either early 2 door or run out classic

Early Citroen CX

Early Panda as mingebag as possible for something at the other end of the spectrum

Sadly the Panda is probaby the only possibility price wise

Well if they came with enough money to tax and insure them I think this week I'd have.

Fiesta mk2 van.
Escort mk4 2 door, 1300, black.
Sierra 2 door, any spec but not Cosworth.
Transit mk3 the smallest, as in swb, low roof that kind of thing.
Fiat 500 in words or 600 in words SX or sporting.
Rover 213
DeLorean DMC-12 in rhd
NSU kettenkrad
M3 Halftrack
Some kind of early to mid 80's David Brown tractor made in my home town.

That's all I can think of for now.

You could (routemaster enthusiasts look away now) convert that so you could drive the Invacar into the back, like The Italian Job, and the rest of the bus into living quarters, then roam around the country like The Littlest Hobo fighting crime and solving problems.

Not with that bus you're not! Go and find your own and you can do whatever you want with it.

I'd have a Tatra 613. More understated than the earlier cars but I like that.
f26183as-960.jpg

Preferably a late one as it shares air vents, ash tray and big knobby buttons with my Favorit (though it has a lot more of them. Can't imagine what they all do. One must be an ejector seat).

Hmm.

Baby blue Simca 1000 from around 1975 to 1977.

Mk1 Ford Escort

Ford Corsair 2000E in gold

Mk3 Ford Cortina 1600XL in Daytona Yellow

Hillman Husky (the one that looks a bit like the Imp)

These are all cars that my parents owned and I have hugely fond memories of the cars.

Any one will do.

You might even be lucky enough to scoop one of the four 613s that were built in RHD to test the UK market. One came up on eBay several months ago; it reached about eleven grand.

It looked sort-of-alright in the photos, but hadn't been on the road for a while. It wasn't the same car that Chris Goffey drove for Top Gear.

Definitely a rarity, and not sure where you'd obtain parts for the RHD-specific areas.

Indeed. Not least the dashboard was completely different, not just a mirror of the LHD one.

Very late cars upped the engine from 3.5 to 4.4 litres and had a neat system where if you gave it full throttle it would cut power to other systems, mainly the massive cooling fans (air cooled), for twenty seconds to give you an extra 20bhp for overtaking. 0-60 was around 7.5 seconds which was as good as its contemporaries (if it really had any).

A runout Lotus Excel Celebration
A Volvo 165 with various add ons including vinyl wood type side panels and full length roof rack.

Yesterday, I sat in a 1963 Lancia Flavia Pininfarina coupe at a local classic car specialists, while I went to look at something else. It has immeditely rocketed to the top of my wish list.  It is one of the most beautiful and well-integrated styles ever, the design and engineering of every detail is sublime, except possibly for the gearchange, which is a bit like stirring a Christmas pudding. That wouldn't put me off, however. Best of all it is for sale at a very attainable (if not for me :( ) £23k:
