My Dad has his 2001 Ford Fiesta MK5 1.25 LX manual which he thinking of selling as he just doesn't use it or have the time too.

Mot'd it a few weeks back [ So 11 mths Mot ] after it had been parked up for the last few years unused and passed with just a advisory for the brake pipes. Currently on Sorn but Insured.

Car has done a genuine almost 51,000 on the clock ex jersey hire car and I think 3 owners inc my Dad since new. Has had some paintwork due to previous owners bad parking etc but nothing major. Does need a cambelt an oil change due to standing the last few years but run's and drives great.

Did replace the heater valve with a used one recently as it packed up *common fault* so heaters are working fine.

Has standard Alloys, Heated Front Windscreen great for winter! Leccy Front Windows, Central Locking via key. We also fitted a Ford CD player as the original cassette packed in. An has Power steering. A/C fitted but not sure if its working as didn't seam that cold but there again it's never been regassed since new but was working fine before my Dad stopped using it.

It's not a minter but it's a tidy car for the age and I think with a decent service it provide someone with some cheap motoring.

My Dads looking for £500 firm.

Located at his home in Measham just off Jct 11 M42.

I having to post this ad via my phone due to laptop fail so had to retake pictures today so sorry if they aren't top quality.

Any questions just ask away and I'll do my best to answer them or if you want to come view PM me.

The one I bought off here for £80 had two small blebs on one arch and that was it.

Thanks for one of these it a pretty decent even the Mot Tester was suprised how tidy it was as normally he said there full of holes!

It's had a little tidying done to the sills by my Dad and the drivers rear arch was replaced due to previous giffer damage along with the n/s wing to a reasonable standard but not concourse. But for a 2001 Fiesta with 51,000 at £500 as I say it not bad.

Pictures of the bits that have been touched in or replaced bellow.

This looks far better than all the MK4/5s for the same money I looked at before I bought the Clio. Long MoT and really clean bodywork, as opposed to most of the ones for sale with MoTs measured in days, and non-existent sills/rear arches.

Don't think it will hang around long at that price.

Sat eve bump up for the Fiesta as we like it to find a good home on here rather than brave Ebay / Gumtree.

I could look into getting the cambelt and waterpump done locally and adjust the price accordingly to cover costs if its a deal breaker?

Our old one is still on the road but looking at the MOT history it should be looking like arcing - up block on a welders bench.

Round my way there seams to be a fair few of these MK5 Fiestas still going strong and the odd MK4.

My Mum had a N reg Fiesta Mk4 1.3 LX that I used to borrow and it wasn't a bad little car at all. Only problem my Mum couldn't get on with no PAS. So it was sold on to someone her partner knew as a first car and despite only having 60,000 they ruined it quite quickly much to my annoyance as I used to keep it spotless. Despite that they had it about 6 years before rust and neglect claimed it.

It a shame to sell this one really as my Dad likes it a lot but my Dad has 4 vehicles and he never gets chance to drive them all. Plus between me and my brother there another 7 cars so not exactly short as it is.

Surprised this hasn’t sold yet. Tidy car for £500 in the usual price range for old rubbish. That bit of bubbling at the back of the sills might want a plate but once that’s done should be fine for a few years.

That said all the Bumtree brigade won’t want to know as it’s not got ISOFIX and remote Bluetooth bollocks and it’s not ten pence.

My mate had one of these, it was nowhere near as nice as this one but it was great fun to drive.

Good engine too, not bad on fuel.

Getting quite a rare sight now too.

Funny you say that my Dad did offer this car last year to one of my Cousins as he just past his driving test. He rejected it for similar reasons i.e not enough spec and also my Uncle said it was too old. So they went and brought a 8 year old Fiesta from a backstreet dealer for about £2,500 and then found out it had various issues and the warranty wasn't worth jack either. He then had to sink about another 450 into it, plus they had to replace a few broken / missing bits of trim via ebay. Total bargain over my Dads offer clearly!

Personally I haven't driven a pez MK7 Fiesta but I have driven a MK6 years ago. To be honest I was left disappointed on the driving experience. It felt quite wooden in comparison to the MK5 and not as nibble as the 04 KA it replaced either which is the same as ours underneath.

He not the only one sadly my Uncle is no better. He always ribs my Dad about his old motors being worthless pos. Yet his bloody VW T5 Transporter has had more time and money spent on it in last 2 years than my Dads four vehicles combined. An he now gone out and brought a T6 to go with it for work!

Nudge to the top for the little Fiesta. I've been round my Dads house this afternoon and started this up and left it to tick over while I was tinkering with the new (to me ) Van despite the rain. Went and checked on the Fiesta about 10 mins later and the heater is like a oven !

Any interest before I post / brave it elsewhere?

These are great little cars. Really chuckable and even the 1.25 is a willing motor. My dad had one as a company car in the 90s when it was new and my rancid ex girlfriend had one too when it was about ten years old. Both cars were great little things.

The only thing wrong with these cars is they are out of fashion with Joe Public which is a shame.

Agree these are a fun car to drive, especially round the lanes on the twisty stuff. It pulls nicely and feels pretty sure footed even at 70mph+. If it wasn't for the lack of space I'd keep it myself and get the Cambelt done. As this car still got another 50,000 plus of miles left in it.

I guess it in the same boat as our friends MK1 Fiesta Popular was back in 2001. You couldn't give them away and look at them now.

NOW SOLD. Gone today to a really nice bloke via Autotrader. First person who called too and he travelled over 60 miles to view it. Paid the full price which was more than we advertised it here for as we expected to have a haggle! An we had another 3 people wanting to see it at the weekend as well. Bit surprised by the interest especially this time of year. So result all round.
