Greetings, rammle fans

AS is, generally speaking, a happy place where we shiters rub along pretty well with each other, celebrating our many differences as well as our shared love of disreputable old chod.

There are a few well-known discussion points to avoid, of which we are all aware by now, politics being just one.

Racism, sexism, incitement to violence?  Equally unwelcome here.  Recently though, there seems to have been an increase in the use of terms which disparage the disabled and people with learning difficulties.

We've made it clear before that we will hide, move or delete any such thread or post.  If you still feel the need, the interweb is large and there are plenty of other places to do it.

And this is not THE MODS being "fascists", this is to keep AS being, generally speaking, a happy place where shiters rub along pretty well with each other, etc. etc.

Cheers and happy shiting
The Mod Team

In the last week we have had a few complaints about derogatory language.

Please read the post above before posting.

May need to re-pin this.  Disappointing.

If you find that AS is causing you stress can we suggest you log off the site and find something else to do.

Even a small break can help.

This is a car site about old rubbish cars - if it stops being fun then that isnt great.

If you have a question about something feel free to PM a Mod to ask rather than create a new topics to moan about things.

Following complaints, a joint moderation decision has been taken to close the 'current affairs' and 'shag' threads.  See the original post above for reasons.

Sadly the Trans thread has been closed and moved.

We tried pruning and reinstating it, but the discussion got personal and political pretty quickly this afternoon.

Morning All

Just a gentle reminder of what is posted above -

Racism, sexism, incitement to violence?  Equally unwelcome here.  Recently though, there seems to have been an increase in the use of terms which disparage the disabled and people with learning difficulties.

We've made it clear before that we will hide, move or delete any such thread or post.

We would suggest that if you start a post or a thread saying that you know it will be locked - please dont post it.

If that doesn't fit with your values or you feel that it is unfairly restrictive then Twitter, FB or other places are available to discuss the topics. You are always welcome here to talk about why x car is good, bad or ugly.

Also if you are finding that other posters or topics are making you angry then log off for a bit. A break is always a useful thing.

This is a great community and people help each other so much with advice, support and even tools. It would be amazing if we can keep that spirit and work on the things that make us closer rather than focus on the things that divide us.

If you have any questions then feel free to PM a mod and we will try to help.
