Six-cylinder

liked cos i like the mark 1 mg.

we cannot come out to play cos we are hoping to get the 75 back with a working clutch, and like the Prinnie above the black mini 1000 can stay in the lock-up while it readjusts its fuggin' attitude.

still, hope any shitters going have a nice day out. and remember, the rest of the collective NEED pictures!

BL Cars at Milton Keynes Museum Sunday 30th September.

I am guessing a number of forum members will be there. My plan is to take along our silver MG Metro MK1 if anybody wants to say Hi.

Thanks for mentioning this.  I enjoyed several hours of wandering around groups of Allegros, 1800s, Maestros, Montegos, Maxis Metros, Farinas and the occasional Marina, Triumph 2000/Toledo/Dolomite, Rover SD1 etc.  It really was a nice mix of cars and well attended.  A Daimler SP250, Bond Equipe and a Vauxhall Victor FA added further (non-BL) interest. The bacon butties were also delicious.

Adding photos via my Mac is a pain - no USB port or card reader.  I'll see what photos are posted by others and may add one or two of mine if they've survived camera shake.

your metroid looks nekid without any stripeage!

Our Metro is only one owner before us and the Lady instructed the garage when it was new to change the red carpets for grey and remove the decals!

The good news after all these years the unused red carpets are still with the car unfitted.

Good to see you 6C. 206 cars might not have been the final total so a fantastic turn out. On Daddy Duty so only one pic

attachicon.gifIMG_20180930_114323485.jpg

I reckon around 250 in all - Tom said he lost count at 220, everywhere was full and I'm sure there was a lot more stuff than last year as it spilled out into the courtyard and the extra parking behind the fence. Plenty of photos to sort so it'll probably be a couple of days before I get them all uploaded.

My top 3 faves were the Mumford Marina, the Apache and the Stag estate.

I'd give my right arm to have that on the drive. Or even sit in it for that matter.

Hell I miss my old W plate miniMetro HLE...

Never quite been able to explain to my other half how important the soundtrack is with these cars is, nor how much of a nostalgic memory trigger the pinion whine from the gearbox is...

I was a relatively inexperienced driver when I had mine, I'd love a shot of another one now to see if they're half as good as I remember to drive. I do remember go-kart driving position, telepathic handling that only the Activa can come close to matching, a ride not like anything else (bouncy but somehow not jarring at any time), and in the un-servoed form in my car, the brakes requiring a good old shove.

Not a problem as we don't live very far apart and having looked at our area weather forecast decided to keep it taxed for another month. PM me.

Photo time. There must have been a lot more worth taking pictures of this time round as it's taken quite a while to upload them all. Here's a few highlights, starting with the various club stands.

The yellow Maxi corner. We had 12 in total.

Some good stuff there but I'm just getting started. More to come from the delights of the Open Class (i.e. everything else BL).

Thanks for posting these pictures, I only took 3 photos, knowing yours would be more comprehensive and better!

Got to agree with you about that Cooper S, I'm far from a Mini fan but even I could see that joining the A110 Westy in my post Lottery win garage.

The red Triumph estate even comes back as a Stag when you check the number, WTF?

In museum. When I was a lad, we had one of these with the top cut off as our family trailer. From the age of 11 , I'd tow that trailer, behind the S1, along the beach at Aberaeron collecting driftwood for the fire, whilst my mum was shopping. She'd drive it home then I'd have to reverse it round the garden and cut the wood up.

Kids might learn the Nurburgring on the PlayStation these days, but I reckon my education was more useful.
