Weird regional specification at works.

Those wheels are stock 405 item over here. We only got either the 405 GR (carb) or later 405 GRi, and Mi16. There was also SRi which was a late model produced up to 2000. GR and GRi being the most common had those wheels and all early GR would be equipped with Mi16 bodykit. Because appearance is more important than specification when you're driving Gallic luggsury. We never got the Diesel.

I myself nearly bought a mint Mi16 (they're bangernomics priced too) before settling with my Corolla.  :D

This is currently on sale for £1,500. But it's probably going to rot away once you reach Kazakhstan.

We don't have scrapyard as such as when you don't want your car anymore they just get further and further away from city until there's nothing left. (They get cut up and go away on a flatbed as pieces). We don't really retire cars into a yard and even the few that exist certainly won't let you just walk around in. But if you like imported JDM that comes in half, (for parts, obv, long story as to why that is) there's an area specialised in that and you can walk around it without issue.

Motor Factors are common, but there's a road in central Bangkok where a few dozen is concentrated on a single road. (It's where I get my parts).

If one really wish to bring a car back, I recommend for anywhere between £700-£3000, there's plenty of classic JDM shite with relatively little* rot.

At this point I should just become shite travel agency.  :P  :D

Thanks!

A mate of mine (the Best Man at my wedding) drives a gloss black 1992 E32 730i.....you may have seen it. Sure BKK is a big place but E32's are rare.

I might have! But Bangkok is indeed a big place and there's still a few E32 rolling around though! (It helps that people can bolt some E34 parts on, unlike E38).

Maybe if it's an absolute minter Renault 19 or Citroen ZX. Because there would indeed be only one of each left.  :P
