Tetleysmooth
Try as I might, I just cannot warm to the manual box in this, so sadly, against the wishes of Mrs Tet and the rest of the family, it's got to go.Registration number GU05 WUX.The good,The roof works perfectly. The engine 'box and clutch are all very good. No slippage, clunks or bangs. All display pixels are correct and present.Just shy of 101k.Half leather seats are fine, but need a valet.Excellent heater which warms up very quickly in my opinion.Interior stays dry in heavy rain.Very quiet runner and quick when it needs to be.Bloody reliable in the short time I've had it.No warning messages apart from 'time for service', which can be extinguished at the flick of a switch. There's probably more positives which I'll add as I think of themThe not so good. The brakes, although excellent will probably need renewing for the next test, which is late January. It'll need front pads, and rear discs and pads. But I say again, the brakes are fine as they are. There's a scrape in front of the offside wheelarch. The front tyres (205 - 55 - 16) will need replacing sooner rather than later. Rears are fine.A couple of scuffs on the front and rear bumper.I can't think of any more negatives to be honest, but if I do, I'll be sure to let y'all know.Oh, one more neg is it has a wrinkled nearside sill cover (plastic), but I've got a replacement here which I'll attempt to fit on the morrow. No pics yet. I'll do some when the replacement skirt is fitted.I think a reasonable price for this is 650 quid, but if you think I'm taking the piss, feel free to let me know.If this had been an auto, this ad would not exist.Alternatively, if anyone can find a cheap but good Volvo c70 auto convertible, or a similar Saab in auto, we'll have a chat about it, then if both agree, you buy it and I'll swap you.No raffle, sorry.Any questions, fire away. Nothing to hide.Oh, by the way, it's Silver, which I know some of you don't like. DeeJay and gadgetgricey
Guest Hooli
If it's the same as a 9-5 then holding the clear button in till it beeps/displays something resets the service warning.
Tetleysmooth
Just thought of another negative.Only one bar of the heated rear screen works, miraculously though, it still gives enough area to see through. Pictures tomorrow, weather permitting. gadgetgricey

Tetleysmooth
I'm going to take some pics a little later, after I've (hopefully) fitted the replacement - not new - sideskirt.I'm located in Rainham, Essex, in the Greater London borough of Havering, about 10/15 minutes from Thurrock services / Dartford Crossing. Another negative. That magic cup holder that pops out of the dash is not very well.In my mate's own words 'if you press that, it'll just fall out'. Didn't bother me and still doesn't as I never use cup holders. I try not to drive that far. There is another cup holder located under the centre arm rest which pops out, that one's ok. GeordieInExile
Ah that's a shame, I loved the cupholder in my 9-3. I think the manual gearbox in mine was even woolier than the one in my current 9-5, though!

Tetleysmooth
Right, let's give this a go. Fitting the sideskirt was an absolute dream of a job, as I didn't know what to expect. I'm happy to report there was absolutely no damage to the bodywork at all. The roof needs a proper clean. A mate told me that Autoglym make a product that's brilliant for convertible roofs. I thought if I put it up for a reasonable price, I might get a straight sale out of it.Can't be doing with raffling it.We'll see what happens - if anything. SiC
Wow! Proper poverty spec this one is. The midrange radio is the only option box I can see that the first owner ticked. Surprised that they did the convertibles without climate control too.
Tetleysmooth
The aircon works brilliantly, but would you really need it? Even poverty spec in these is pretty lush compared to some others, isn't it. Radio/cd has got a lovely tone.
SiC
Nothing wrong with poverty spec. Far less to break! Especially as the climate control flap actuators aren't the strongest on these. Where as the povo spec manual cable ones like these don't really have problems. tonedepear
gm
Please answer me a question - what is this little round thing ? I'm pretty sure it's not to open the boot but what does it do ?
SiC
I might be wrong but I think it covers up a keyhole for emergency opening of the boot. Or was one and had a project drive equivalent done on it by GM. gm
Stroller133
Although badged as 1.8t, these are only a map different from the 2.0t. There a guy , Carlnoob or Simerhung who can remap these to about 220bhp from the standard 150bhp. purplebargeken

Uncle Jimmy
Good price this, prefer the older style rear lights. They are heavy bastards and seem to break their front springs a lot. I drove one a fair bit last year and liked it enough, damned good hood setup and fairly brisk-it was a 2l 185 bhp I think.

Tetleysmooth
I originally had this for sale here only.I thought it might fly.I've now punted it out to a few other places, so if and when it sells, I'll update this thread.
GeordieInExile
Noobtune will remap this for you to over 200bhp, I believe. I had no idea they even did these without the automatic climate control!

Stroller133
I don’t think you would need to change much after the remap, I reckon you probably use 3rd gear in nearly all circumstances.
