Valve stem seals done.

 

We've evaluated we can't be fucked trying to make our own exhaust and we're just going to pay someone else to do it.

The 'old' exhaust looks new to me.

 

It does to me too: alas, it's a very poor fit, blowing at all its joints. A new system isn't that much less than stainless, so why not?

Head is back on, time to do the cambelt.
The D-Series has a large hex tool to get the big end pulley off, it can be a right bastard.
However this was a revision and early '90s cars don't have it, just a 17mm bolt.

Update of the day: the cambelt had skipped a tooth. Just valve clearances to set now, and exhaust to remount.

 

I'm excited about the potential increase in performance.
