So I've had this a while, about 200k on the clock but a lovely runner, very economical and very pleasant indeed to drive and seeing as I have another, newer A4 Diesel estate with a tow bar, is of no use to me. I would drive it anywhere needing bugger all diesel.

Bad points, needs a shock at the rear, cambelt roulette, it's due, possibly overdue, repaired sump following a speed hump bash, pulled over straight away, towed back to Les at BL Transverse, patched up and never replaced. A bit scabby here and there but solid. and AFAIK (or can remember) everything works, though probably not the A/C

It's in Sarf London, near BL Transverse, 2 keys, book pack and probably history, taxed to get you home, I'm on here or viscount.basingstoke at gmail dot com, looks like this:

Legendary AFN engine. Had this engine in a Passat B5 I once has. I used that Passat for towing a trailer with a car on the back and still got 42mpg! Unbelievable - best engine I have ever had and will do 2/3 times that mileage. Can be run on vege oil combination but not worth it as they are already extremely economical. I used to get 50+ round town.

Be a shame to let the cambelt go on this great engine!

Is it obligatory on these audi's to drop some of the lower door trim somewhere?

Kind of like early Mondeo's and gaffer tape on the bumpers.

I'd buy that, but I'm absolutely stacked with cars at the moment.

Yup, 'service position' is needed.

The belts on the VE engined stuff are slightly more challenging than the later PD cars as the fuel pump needs timing up too.

Even if you ran it until Jan, didn’t spend a penny on it then flogged it to someone wanting to take it to Romania or wherever I can’t see how you could lose there.

Eastern Europeans....ask them how much they’ll give you for the car....they reply £150 not a penny more.....

Then you see the car (or similar pop up in the live auction in copart)....£350, £400, £450 plus the fees Sold!! (Poland/Romania)

.....they will never explain their logic when I ask them....

What's the Rover like?

Fine, nothing wrong. Its one-legged and has tow bar.

177K on an M47 engine. Inside back seats are knackered but I have child seats covering that up.

MOT'd till May.
