Cheap road tax and excellent fuel economy. It belongs to an elderly relative who has recently moved to Fife and has given up driving so no longer requires use of the car. It's only really noticeable at higher speeds on bumpy roads, there's no knocks or clunks coming from the suspension but it does feel a lot stiffer to the likes of my W123 which I've been driving a lot recently. gtd2000
Bought my dear old mum one of these back in 2008 - was surprised how decent it was overall. The brakes on these are fantastic! Total overkill
DodgyBastard
Fuck me, who would have thought that this car would be so popular especially with foreigners. I've had about 10 messages since putting the advert up last night. egg, Jim Bell and Slartibartfast
egg
It's a good price. Some dealers down here would want over £2k. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201806227756953

Stanky
Especially small autos of any description. I used to car share with a guy (I drove, he paid) and he was looking for a 2nd hand <1.3 litre auto for his wife and often asked what I thought of such and such he'd found. None were less than £3k. I was astonished. He got a new Yaris on PCP in the end because it'd have cost about the same over 3 years as buying something else outright, but had full dealer warranty. He got some deal through work which amounted to a few hundred down and about £110 a month. I told him to go for it at that price.
djimbob
I keep looking at smoll autos as a city car, but the price makes me baulk, when we recently paid £500 for a mint, Kia magentis two litre auto on a 2005 plate, loads of history and test from a giffer couple, low mileage 60k, I just can't bring myself to pay that for what I know will be an inferior driving experience, so now I'm looking at LPG conversions of bigger cars (note smoll cars are fine for smoll people, me and the missus are big boned and early fifties, so comfort is everything really) So anyone got an LPG auto barge you want to flog me (Yorkshiiiiiiire area but will travel for a good car!) Also soz for hijack good luck with the sale etc

djimbob
Helpful. I did apologize at the end Seriously 'tho, you should have no bother shifting it at that price as it looks a cracker and as you said, you've had about ten messages over night, not everyone is falling apart like me and the missus and can happily drive around in smoll cars all day long without chronic backache kicking in And Kia's are for winners as well

gtd2000
Did you only give the email option for the advert? If you put down a phone number, you'll normally get called within 5 seconds from some South Asian lads asking about a random accident you had this or last year... I had about 36 people coming to look at the little 125cc I had advertised on Facebook, nearly all of them were coming that night! None did of course! Worked out well in the end because the lad that bought it gave me an extra £50 to put a fresh MoT on it!

Lacquer Peel
Bizarre. I've had some luck on Gumtree recently, finding serious buyers within hours. I just ignore the "insert amount here" people.
davehedgehog31
I like the guy who offered you 11 and a half bags for it. Dick Longbridge
Can't you add a line to the advert which reads something similar to, 'If your I.Q is less than 5, please don't enquire about this vee-hicle.' That should rule out around 98% of potential enquiries. I guess you're relying on the prospective buyer being able to read in the first place though. Tough one. DodgyBastard
Anybody on here want it? All the money is going to Mrs foads gran and she seemed happy enough with our initial valuation of £800 to £1000.I think she would be happy with a quick and effortless sale without drama.I know if I do end up selling it to one of these twats I'm going to end up in a similar situation to the alto where the buyer bids me down before seeing it, then the same again when he turns up then will call me hours later asking for more off because they have "found" a fault with it or whatever. Mr_Bo11ox
Yo FOAD, the answer to the two-stage price gouging technique is to stick to a clear line of simply not talking turkey until the 'buyer' has actually seen the car. If anyone starts making offers beforehand you can say 'just come and have a look and make an offer then' that way you are not rejecting their offer, nor are you accepting it (cos if you do they will 100% attempt a second lower offer anyway). No serious buyer will object to this and no-one loses face or has their strategy undermined. SiC
Try Autotrader. I've had much more success with it recently. Adverts under 1k are free. Seem to get a different class of buyer with AT - especially around here.
