MGF roffle - drawing tonight!

I don't really like MGs in general, or MGFs in particular (Cog Sr had a really nasty old shitter that tested both our tempers sorely, not even redeemed by the fact he was given it for free), and when I idly and speculatively mentioned this roffle to MrsDC last night, she hit the fucking roof.

Plus, of course, the massive ball-ache in retrieving it and bringing it over to Northern Ireland, involving planes, trains, ferries and probably a donkey and trap, leading me to swear (after last time) that in future I'd only ever do it again for a car I really, really wanted as a long term keeper.

So it stands to reason that of course I want a random ticket, don't I?

Hit me up for payment details; let's get this here roffle over the line!

How do you think dave's MG got to the south of france after he won it from me in a roffle?

I've paid. God knows what I'll do with yet another one if I win it though.

Oh, I've done it before - that's how I know it's a right old faff!

(Both buying a car unseen in GB and bringing it back to Belfast, and nursing an ailing heap with HGF down to the South of France and back again)

Nah, I'm sure I'll sort something out, in the **exceedingly** unlikely event of my number being drawn - and if Warninglight was planning on returning to these fair shores at some point in the autumn, then I could certainly contain my excitement for a few weeks while using the time profitably to think up an excellent reason for why an MG might unexpectedly appear on the driveway...

"Look, darling - we've been visited by the MG fairy in the night! Lucky us!"

Yeah, I'll need to work on that a bit.

If the day is right I could take it straight up to Ballyclare auctions for you ;)

Now there's convenience!

It could join the near-identical one that was there last Wednesday...

Nah, if the planets aligned, I reckon I'd run this for a bit for the novelty, then maybe pass it on to Cog Sr - as I know he would have liked to have put his green one back on the road, but sadly it was too far gone and ended up going to a specialist breaker.

Although he did then go and buy himself a Z3 Roadster, so...

I'd actually be properly delighted to win this, always wanted an MGF.  Closest I ever got was going to get one that was locally advertised on eBay as rough but running & driving.  1/3 ain't bad...it was absolutely knackered, didn't run and had more oil in the header tank than the sump so I walked away.  Quite a trek from Devon to Wayupnorthshire, mind, but isn't that all part of the fun?

Edit: thought it was in Scotland for some reason, Cumbria's not so bad, only a 700 mile round trip.  Practically local.
