I've done 1000 miles in mine now and love it. How old is the 1.4 Studio? Did the meet go well?

2006 so not quite old enough to be shite.  Just shy of 140K miles.  It's my partner's car.

The Kent meet is always a good laugh.  Smoll but good chod always turns up.  RobT's Renault was the belle of the ball.

Decided to join something worthwhile thanks to that HubNut guy.

Grumpy (probably due to me being Scottish) and just turned 50.  Have a dislike for idiots.  Love sarcastic and dark humour and Rover 800s.

My best cars have been Rover.  Currently in a rather boring shite Almera. Also waiting for the aforementioned Hubnut bloke to video his test drive of it.

I might have to do that myself.

  • 2 weeks later...

I thought I had a terrible affliction - then I found this place and it turns out I'm quite sane!

I have owned nothing but shite since my first car at 17 (currently 27) - a Rover 213 with a suspect MOT and a hole in the boot floor. Since then, in no particular order I have owned the following:

306 Dturbo

Audi A4 TDi with intergalactic mileage

Audi 80 TDi, also with ALL the miles

Nissan Micra K11 (bought for £125 - a bargain, engine removed for insertion in an MG midget)

Nissan Micra K10 - still owned, frustratingly reliable

Montego Turbo Diesel estate - beyond saving, engine lives on in a Series 3 landy

Mk2 Golf GTi 8v - put me off K Jetronic life

Peugeot 405 Estate (Turbo diesel) - excellent vehicle, it lives on

Morris Minor (1957) - unfinished project, sold when I moved house and lost the work space

The current fleet consists of:

Peugeot 205 Dturbo daily

K10 Micra - soon to be sold

Peugeot 305 GTX estate - soon to be up for grabs too

Peugeot 505 estate - the latest acquisition!

Outside of owning and fixing my shite, I'm a design engineer in the aerospace industry and have a healthy obsession with alternative metal, tattooed ladies, Rick & Morty and rock climbing.

Looking forward to meeting some fellow shite owners!

Intriguing. 305 sounds mighty fine....

And you like metal, and ladies of the 'inked' variety? How intriguing. And Rick and Morty....

Hello Everyone

I gathered this would be the best place to make my first post in this excellent forum.

I've been into cars for as long as I can remember (mainly Fords).

When I first passed my test approximately 20 years ago I went through cars pretty quickly as I either got bored of them or they were just s***e.

Anyway, in no particular order, from what I can remember:

MK2 Ford Fiesta Popular Plus (bought before I passed my test and was scrapped as was VERY rusty even back then). This is were I should have stopped my interest in Fords!

MK3 Ford Escort 1.3 with RS Turbo body kit (first car once I'd passed my test).  Scrapped as it kept breaking.

MK2 Ford Sierra 1.8 LX hatchback. Given to me by my dad. Lost the back end in the wet and wrote it off. Gutted!

MK4 Ford Escort XR3i with Cosworth body kit. You can tell this was a long time ago!

MK2 Citreon AX 1.0. I loved this car for some reason. Always wanted the GT version though. Sold it after having the HG fixed and never the same again.

MK2 Vauxhall Nova 1.2 saloon in brown. Bought for £30 off a mate who was going to scrap it and to my amazement it passed it's MOT. Looking back, another car I was fond of. Ended up scrapping it I think?

MK3 Ford Escort 1.6 Ghia. Gearbox was knackered so I part ex'd against a MK1 5 door Vauxhall Corsa 1.2.

MK5 Escort 1.3 5dr. Cracking car TBH. Don't know why I got rid? Only car I've been caught speeding in!

MK1 Volvo 440 GLT 1.7. Given to me by my dad. Run it for a year after it passed it's MOT. Very comfy driving position.

MK3 Ford Fiesta 1.1 5dr. Used as a stop gap. Was a pile of c**p.

MK2? (E reg) Honda Civic 1.3. Surprisingly nippy little thing. Sold on once I got bored.

N/P reg (I think) Alfa Romeo 147 with boxer engine. Biggest car purchase mistake I ever made! Went to the car auctions...

Now, at this point in 2005, I thought it's time I bought a 'decent' car. I went to the local Ford dealers and bought a W reg Ford Focus 5dr, 1.6 Ghia. This car has been my daily ever since and passed another MOT last month, no problem! I'll never part with this car.

During my ownership of the Focus, and after purchasing a house with a drive, during the last 10 years I have bought/tinkered with/sold a couple more vehicles.

MK4 Ford Escort XR3i convertible.

MK4 Ford Escort RS Turbo. 190 bhp and weighed about 900 kgs stripped out. Pretty scary (and rusty).

MK4 Ford Escort 1.3 Popular. Fun to drive but too slow. *Clutch ratchet broke and I never want to change one of those things EVER again!

Finally, my current 'weekend' car is a MK1 Mazda MX5 which I've had for a couple of years and they are great fun to drive!

That's about it for now...

Cheers  :-D

Hi. I've been a lurker for a while. Love this site, banter and epic collection threads.

My fleet will probably divide equally here.

I have a Ssangyong Rexton. An MR2 Roadster and a Mercedes Vito for work.

None are particularly exciting or of any value but at least aim to have two out of three running at any one time!
