Hello all

Edited to turn into a roffle but £500 will take it away.

£5 or 2 for £10, cheers!

Alfa 147 75,000 miles, Black, manual, 2.0 petrol, 5 doors.

Bought last year without even taking for a test drive as I had screaming kids in the car and needed a banger for work. Cost me £800 and I’ve stuck 5000 miles on it since September. Owes me nothing really so not precious about what I get for it, hence £500 to avoid unseemly haggling.

Good bits

Great fun to drive, brakes, engine and all the electrics like windows and mirrors still work.

Grey leather seats, although the heated elements are there, the wiring in the car isn’t as I lifted them from a donor car I’ve been cannibalising to keep mine running.

I’ve fitted an aux cable so you can play something other than the single cd it holds.

All four tyres have got plenty of tread on them

Not much rust as it’s galvanised but there’s a bubble at the windscreen.

Bad bits

It has had a small bump in its life at the front and could do with a new front bumper (I have one but not fitted)

There’s a knock over bumps from the front suspension that is probably a drop link but I’ve not bothered to sort it as I don’t get time.

Bit of lacquer peel roof

The timing belt is probably due by Alfa standards (36,000/3 years) it was last done at 20,000 miles and four years ago but I’ve just been running the gauntlet and it hasn’t popped yet.

The Alfa odo is flashing because I had to swap in a new ecu and immobiliser unit as some donut fitted a selespeed ecu when I bought that stuck it in limp mode and wouldn’t rev above 4,500 but now it drives and gets you around fine and will hit the redline as intended.

Drives well but there’s a knock from front suspension over bumps that is probably a drop link (£15)

There is a thread over on pistonheads in readers cars detailing the last 5k if you want an idea of what you’re in for.

Hopefully someone on here will be interested before I have to risk the shite bidding and best price crap that comes with an eBay ad.

I’ve still got the donor car on the drive with engine and bits so winner is welcome to attach that with a spanner and supermarket sweep what they can into the boot.

Is the £500 firm? Not haggling, just wondering. I have a friend who needs a car and this would fit the bill.

Sadly she is poor. Could scrape together £400 apparently.

Sorry if that is an insult.

Not an insult at all but it is firm at £500 unless I want my knackers ripped off by the wife. I told her it was worth that so I could prise another £400 off er to buy a 9-5 Aero estate.

Also, no air con in this weather means she’ll die of heatstroke driving it, cheaper than dignitas though.

Fair enough.

Just offered to lend her the extra £100.

Ok.... Provisionally sold!

Just awaiting a text to confirm.

Can't collect for a week or so though. Is that ok?

Payment by PayPal beforehand of course.

Fine by me, it will need insurance to drive back as I'm shifting it over to the 9-5 but f you're relatively local I can always drive over this Friday and abandon it at yours, I've a day on the trains picking up the 9-5 anyway.

Sorry, all roffle off!

Not that local, Lytham St Annes. Am away until the 2nd August anyway. Can collect on day insurance before the 7th August if that fits in? PM your PayPal details and will pay today providing she stumps up with the cash. Shouldn't be a problem as she is reliable.

Balls, not only has it now not sold and I told the wife it had, the far too modern pool car I got for her has arrived today and ‘it is too small, doesn’t have a reverse camera and doesn’t have bleepers so I can’t reverse it so won’t drive it’

It’s a bleeding Audi A1, my wizened todger would be longer after a dip in the North Sea.

Cheer me up, fill the roffle

Ive never had an Alfa. In unrelated news I hope someone buys it outright and that it doesnt go to roffle.

I’d never had an Alfa until this one as was pleasantly surprised at how much fun it is, despite the suspension knock, which to be fair only really happens when you hit a pothole.

Also to add, I changed the air filter and oil filter the other week, would have done all the oil but the sump plug is rounded and needs knocking off. For £500 I’ll change the oil properly and put a new bolt in there, or at least give you a bolt and 5l of oil if the kids and wife prevent tinkering.

Suspension top arms done at a previous mot, one key for the car, remote doesnt work as there’s a receipt randomly stuffed where the battery should go in the key (not my handiwork).

Has cruise but because the body computer is in a grump about me swapping the ecu, it disables the cruise.
