Jewel25
The Rover's MOT is fast approaching and much work is needed before I can take it. Replacement caliper and CV boot along with a few other jobs. The car is stored at a friend's house for the time being. Is is quite expensive to have cars transported to another location ? The car isn't safe to drive currently. Once it has moved it can sit at our new driveway , where working on it will be much more convenient. Or I could scrap it.
andy18s
Where are you?5 miles across Lincolnshire is going to be vastly different to N London....... Get a mate with a rope or bar and diy?
Talbot
Depends how you plan to move it and how quickly it needs to be moved. How easy would it be to make it safe enough to drive? At that point it could be driven to a booked MOT on day insurance, but mysteriously break down en-route to said booked MOT, just outside your house. If there's no other way, try some shipley quotes. Can sometimes be cheaper than you expect. theshadow
omegod
Most recovery drivers round here won't pick up their keys for less than £50, screwfix do a tow pole for £25 that's meant to be ok https://www.screwfix.com/p/hilka-pro-craft-2-tonne-tow-bar-damper-1-83m/30875?kpid=30875&ds_kid=92700023756794291&ds_rl=1247848&ds_rl=1245250&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrYym1-O13AIVTb7tCh3dbgBpEAQYAyABEgK9iPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CPGZvN7jtdwCFeMg0wodKiwM5A

lesapandre
I'm afraid its £50 in London before anyone will turn up. But...if you look at it as an hourly rate for a driver, and cost of truck, my guy said £2500pa to insure his vehicle it kind of is understandable. stephen01
omegod
It has been known for someone, in a similar situation, to chuck the plates from another mot'd car on for the very short trip, lazy coppers rely on ANPR these days, dispicable behaviour I know and i couldn't condone it for a second Rusty_Rocket, pilninggas, Flat4 and 1 other

Jewel25
I will take a look . I was just wondering whether it was likely to be hundreds or something like 75 quid. Time is my limiting factor . 2 young kids and a full time job makes finding even a few spare hours hard. Talbot
