I’m not sure half these that turn up ought to be buying a second hand car with how fussy they are. The price might be attracting the nutcases, it’s cheap enough that they’ll think you’ll take fuck all for it. I’d put it up somewhere else at £1500 and let them think they’ve got a great deal when you let them have it for a grand.

This is my pricing strategy nowadays, never advertise something too cheap, go with what similar models are selling for even if it seems too much. Worked with the Auris and the Civic.

Obviously more difficult here when it's a rare car.

If you go with ebay make it a classified ad and switch off the best offer option-that way they have to email/call you. it only costs £15 and has done me well in the past.

If you do get hold of the 405 I'd be interested in having the wheel trims off it, I want a scruffy set for mine for general driving about. If the 405's not a complete dog they aren't a bad old bus for tatting about in.

Here's the latest potential swap which I'm seriously considering. A 323i manual.
I'd have to bin the alpina alloys but other than that it doesn't look bad. 5238510faeb2642648257b460323a4d5.jpg7baa15e3f40d30eaa6e0c23125f954bb.jpg

He'll not reply. He's currently under the car fitting new bellhousing bolts. Don't give him the V5 reference number.

That's what he's paying the £900 for - the car is free!

GLWS.

When he offered 800 quid. I'd have said. Well I've looked underneath now and is forgotten how good it is so 1000 quid it is.
When he starts complaining that's not how haggling works, you say:WELL YOU STSRTED TAKING THE PISS SO I TH OUGHT I'D JOIN IN.

No disrespect but you buy and sell a lot of cars ...

And as such 'autistic weirdo's ...

'Time wasters:...

And obsessive 'mark experts'

Not forgetting trainee car dealers are par for the course ...

Not really sure why you're sharing this on here with us ... ???

Your acronym stands for fuck off and die ...

You reap what you sow springs to mind.

So don't really have any sympathy for your plight ...

Though surprisingly a few people on here do.

What the fuck are you on about? I put up all the stories of time wasters for entertainment, I know that the car is unlikely to sell to the majority of penniless losers on here who don't have any interest in old cars so I'm not expecting it to have a detrimental effect on my sales thread.

Fuck off and die.

I found it quite entertaining reading. You’ve got to laugh at some of these but jobs that turn up to buy cars on Bumtree, if you didn’t you’d go fucking mad.

I'm still struggling to see why my name on an Internet forum should mean I deserve to be met with twats when selling cars.

What is your fucking problem anyway?
