Des
I've often noticed in recent times, long lines of balance weights, sometimes taking up as much as a third of a rims circumference, I assumed this was a result of shoddy Chinese tyres or maybe yet another surreal and life threatening scene fad, but look what I've found. The top pair are 30 grammes, the lowers, 60. Why are some bigger? Because they're made of monkey metal rather than lead, the miserable cheap bastards. It's going to be fun when battery makers start turning that trick. Peter C, Aston Martin, Sigmund Fraud and 2 others
oldcars
I had a weight on the Reliant that was almost the size of the 10 inch wheel when i got it.
cobblers
TBH I think lead was banned because of the RoHS stuff. It's why solder is so shit nowadays too
castros_bro
In your photograph one of the weights has Zn on it so is 7.14 gm/cm3 whereas Pb is 11.34 gm/cm3 so the one made by Zn. is 1.5882353 times bigger then the one made by Pb. Get a grip. SCANDAL indeed from Spider Murphy Sigmund Fraud and Asimo
SiC
I wish wheel weights were still made from Depleted Uranium.
Lankytim
They should make them out of bits of collapsed neutron stars.
inconsistant
I bet the zinc ones are for when apprentice mechanics have to go to the supplier and ask for a long weight. Also, Zinc scores more than Lead in Scrabble despite both being the same size. Asimo
busmansholiday
I wish wheel weights were still made from Depleted Uranium. No you don't. It 'sweats' so could come loose, sparks violently when you cut or catch it with something metallic and the ammount of paperwork you have to fill in for the HSE (was DTI) and our friends in Brussels accounting for every last gram is a nightmare. Ask me how I know. SiC and inconsistant
