wuvvum
I just paid £385 for this. This might seem a little over the odds for a sound-but-slightly-scruffy late 1850 with no T&T, but here's the reason I was happy to pay that much: Yup, that's a Sprint lump (apologies for the crap phone pics). It also has Sprint brakes, Rostyles, and a Sprint MOD gearbox. It's running a bit lumpy at the minute as it's been stood in the bloke's garage for six months, but it'll be getting new plugs and dizzy cap at the weekend (they're already in the boot waiting to be fitted) and the throttle linkages greased up as the throttle is sticking a bit at the moment. It's also going to need an oil change before I do any serious Saxo-baiting in it. It seems to drive OK though from the couple of hundred yards I drove it, and all the electrics work apart from the screenwash. Underneath looks sound from a brief look - I'll have a more detailed poke around with a torch as soon as I get the chance. Anyway, I'm quite pleased with my purchase so far - any genuine Sprint I'd purchased for the same sort of money would have been a complete rotbox, and while this will never be worth as much as a genuine Sprint it should be just as much fun to drive. And just as much of a pain in the arse to keep in fine fettle, but that's all part of the fun...
Guest
Nice purchase, colour is QUAL.Why are Sprints such arseholes to keep in tune wuv? They look like HS6s up top, they're not that capricious are they? Amazons use 'em.

Mr_Bo11ox
Splendid work WUVZATRON_500. I went to see a mate of mine last week who is battling on with a Sprint. He has done stacks of welding on it, and the repairs look pretty bad cos he has used 2mm thick steel which obv is pretty difficult to get to the right shape, so it looks like a bit of a lash up although i'm sure its super strong. He has also replaced the engine which previously went up the pipe. Anyway he is thoroughly sick of it and lobbed it on eBay recently with a reserve of about £700 which seemed like an awful lot to me, but he insists thats a fair price for a Sprint. I certainly would not pay that for one in that state, which probably means I wont be getting one Yours looks like a right bargain Wuverelli. pogweasel
Awesome!!!1!Who cares if it's not a real one if it goes like one. I had the chance of a genuine Sprint last year for like £400, looked good too apart from a biffed door and minging interior, like a twat I dithered over it and lost out (mostly dithering 'cos the vendor wasn't keen on me A-framing it the 12 miles home).Certainly worth the money, better than any Escort you could buy at 5 times (& moar) than that price.
