This is FFFfffing brilliant !  what an amazing Fred, as I have had 15 (yes, FIFTEEN) R12 Estates,

and the only one that never ran in my hands I abandoned in Antigua, W.I.  I can't get enuff of this,

I do hope Mr Bikkle is/has enjoyed it too, he has a wealth of R12 parts and knowledge.

Keep up the good work Wolly Dobbler

Yes.

In other news, went for a pre-MOT.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DfeaBtXXUAAz...

It would fail on expected things like shit headlamps (no pattern), no fog light and emissions (way, way too rich so might need to check float levels).

It would also fail on unexpected things: Three wheel bearings are tired, which explains the droning noise I had noticed on the way back. One exhaust mounting doesn't actually have its nut. Some welded repairs are not continuous seam welded. There's an advisory for a leak from the gearbox (nearside driveshaft) and hilarity that the driveshafts are apparently held in with bent nails.

However, a friend has just advised me that if the Romanian MOT was conducted after 20th May, which it was, I can import the car with that and get a UK MOT in exchange! So, I'm going to do that. Naturally, I'm going to fix the issues too - if nothing else, the rich running is clagging up the spark plugs so that starting is a major problem.

Bah Humbug I had to get mine MOTed :(

Seriously though itll make stuff easier and getting your V5 should be a little easier ;)

Where mine came from they just test the Smog maybe I should of tried posting my Catalysts to the Doovla

Soon you will be cruising the Queens Highway as Small Children shout.................

What is it ????

I remember when these were sold in the UK and I saw a single example in Loughborough once. To my twenty something eyes it was a very disappointingly cheapened version of an obsolete Renault and that was the end of my interest. It's curious that you say it's unlikely to withstand a single Welsh winter. I presume that their total lack of rustproofing was the reason for their (almost instant) demise over here.

In other vaguely related news, I passed a T plate Renault 12 (going the other way) on my way to Southwold the other week. My eyes nearly popped, I'd forgotten how oddly proportioned they are in the flesh!

Denems?

I think the only Denem about is a saloon in the hands of Sam Glover.
