I was thinking about a roffle but thought I'd try the traditional way first!

The car is in Lewes, East Sussex, and can be driven away.  Text below from my friend:

Volvo C70 t5 edition. 1999 first registration. Private plate, 148,000 miles. No accident dame but has marks and some scuffs for a car that’s 20 years old. The things we know need fixing are ets light is on so cruise control won’t work until that sensor is replaced. Front near side tyre has slow leak from the alloy. Slow leak from coolant system , could be from the hose or the bottle. This is what we are aware of. Otherwise it runs it just needs more work than we can justify. Mot until June so not much left.

Guest Hooli

I remember thrashing those new at Anchor Volvo in Worthing. Rather good fun for a FWD. Shame they never did an R version.

They did the equivalent of the R in these. Where the T5 manual saloon or estate was 225bhp, and the R 250bhp, the T5 C70 was also 250bhp (240 for auto).

The C70 GT trim level was pretty similar to the R as well. Slightly lower and firmer, half alcantara seats, Dolby surround sound, 302mm front brakes...

I had A T5 GT auto in that colour and those wheels but with charcoal interior. It was on lpg and I piled miles on it daily for 2 years. The auto ruined it on the hills around here though, the 5 speed manual is a much better bet.

I would. I'd certainly lose my roffle virginity with 23 and 19 as that's the engine size...

I always thought my 2002 V70 T5 was 250, went like stink anyway.

This looks lovely and I would be keen to have it but Mrs Concern  was not too impressed with the investment* of the XM so I'll have to pass despite the T5 plate.

C70 was the old 2.3 T5 with 230hp, I think.

The T5 in the V70 from 2000 to 2004 was 250hp (also a 2.3).

Then it became a 2.4T with 260hp from around 2005 onwards.

In this instance, you're basically looking at £1 per horsepower, which is GR8 VALU FOR MUNEY M9!

SOLD via this forum.

Sellers knew it was too good to scrap, but didn't want to spend any more money on it - especially as it was not the most suitable vehicle for their young family.

I'm really pleased it's gone to someone on here: far better than the sellers having to deal with the general public on ebahgumtree etc.
