Had a minor ftp due to running out of electric which was diagnosed as a dead alternator, I made it as far as Blyth, so not too bad!!Phone battery died on me due to googling mk2 scirocco electrics many times.Overall a pleasant turd of a car which given some time with a multimeter and more electric should transform it into a more reliable steed.Thanks to Terry the aa man who frequents this forum occasionally. Yep there's another Blyth, Notts South Yorkshire Border near Worksop. Famous for.....hmm....well it was home to Harworth colliery (scabs main) which supplied the coal to Mallard the day it set the steam speed record. I loved smoking about town in it, but there again, I have NEVER driven it without either FTP or failure to start. It was one of those cars you just love to hate, but my guess is that it's not seen a motorway in 20 years at least. Look forward to the updates on progress.
