I got this at the start of the year with the intention of fitting a Fiat twin cam to it but I've recently come to the conclusion that I'll probably never get around to doing anything with it.

Mot until November 2018 and 17k miles.

It's had new brakes all round including calipers, cylinders, drums and lines, new clutch slave cylinder, hoses and a Weber carb.

It starts goes and stops, with it being low mileage the steering box is in good order and it handles well (for a Lada)

Bodywork is quite good, it's had a replacement wing and sill recently.

Interior is nice with very little wear.

I'm after £1500 for it and it's located in Fife, Scotland.

I also have a 2.0L Fiat twin cam engine with gearbox, axle, prop, exhaust and some other bits and pieces. It can be included with the car all in for £2000 or I'd sell the engine separately for £600

or how about £1200 for the car and engine or a little bit less for the car on its own?

These are one of the few motors that still turn up regularly with mileages like this. Mine was on only 13K when I got it. Condition is vastly more important than miles...and given this is FOAD, you know it's not going to dissolve overnight.

The 1500 goes surprisingly well I find.

Good luck with the sale!

Ps. Glad the airbox was put to good use.

Too much?

£1200 for the car plus engine or a little bit less for the car on it's own?

Unfortunately it's never going to be easy selling an Eastern European car for real money. Here's a better idea: Why not just sell on the engine and continue to enjoy the Lada? They were not as bad as people made out imo

I sold my fucked riva for £500, the estate for £900 so thought asking a little bit more for this lovely low mileage example wasn't out of the question.

Not out of the question at all - well worth what you're asking. Just seems to be a little difficult attracting buyers for Eastern chod now they're no longer in banger territory. I had a Wartburg Knight once....

I think one issue is the people who want a Lada these days want a really tidy one, and will pay surprising money for one in such a condition. This one probably falls in the dangerous middle ground - too expensive for miserable shiters, not tidy enough for stronger money.

Mind you, if I was such an expert on car values, I'd be a millionaire.

Possibly,

Maybe I just got lucky with the sale of these.

£500 for that.

And £900 for the estate.

Possibly, or alternatively your previous sales simply saturated the market for Ladas at the moment. There are probably a grand total of half a dozen people in the UK actively seeking a Lada Riva right now, and location-wise this isn't the most accesible. My guess is that if you try again this time next year it will sell.

Hold on till after pay day. Middle of the month is always the worst time to sell a car.

I admit to having paid way more than that for my Riva Estate - purely driven by the fact that (wings aside) it was totally free of rot.

I reckon it will sell, just might take a bit of time. Shame it's not further south as that might put some buyers off.

Hmm. I just put a secondary SIM into my phone. Tempting.

I did just search that number on facebook, but the twat isn't quite stupid enough to put their number in there.
