It looks tidy, a mate is looking for a wagon but the egr delete is an issue as it won't pass another mot without one, do you still have the bits? it might be prudent to refit it before sale :)

Yes I still have the egr valve. It literally is a couple of minutes to refit. I purchased some new bolts for the bottom half direct from VAG to so it's nice and new and painless to swap over, and then take off again after the MOT. Did I mention it has MOT till next year? Oh yes

No it isn't, the new MOT regulations only cover DPFs in newer diesels.

Wrong I'm afraid, see 8.2.21 here if an EGR is removed (Emission control equipment fitted by the manufacturer missing, such as diesel oxidation catalysts, diesel particulate filters, exhaust gas recirculation valves and selective catalytic reduction valvesits a Major, which is an automatic fail.

Taken from the new MOT manual on the gov.uk website.

Have they changed what's going to be covered yet again then?  I read the post 20th May proposals a couple of months back and agree with Lacquer Peel, it specifically said DPF removal/modification on post 2009 vehicles.  I was also discussing it with the garage in the village a couple of weeks ago as I may* have blanked off the EGR on a 2002 car belonging to another member of this forum, and MOT tester chappie confirmed what I'd read; post 2009 DPF only.

I don't think MOT testers themselves know, I had my Borat mot'd the week before the new legalisation came into place because its missing an egr and the tester was adamant it would fail under the new regs, shame the passat sold, my mate just messaged me to get your details, oh well you snooze you loose! :)

MOT testers can be wrong too. Where did you get the EGR delete? I could do with one for my Borat too. I've turned the EGR off in the ECU map for now.

My tester said 09 onwards would fail on egr delete.

Is your mate interested in a newer one then.
