Let's expand on that - maybe put it up for £1995 and try and 'achieve' at least £1750 in estate agent speak.

But I may be way off beam....

Just gotta find the right Ford licker!

Here we have a rare example in xxx yellow including the much sought after rear spoiler. Car was exhibited at Stowe House in July 2018 and has been subject to a thorough restoration but could be improved further blah blah blah

More probably with Ford Scene Tax. But I know the square root of fuck all about Ford prices.

EDIT: Egg said £2,000. That’s the price I had in my head. Suspect with strategic advert you could get more...

They do have a proper following.

Oooh! If I wasn't totally oversubscribed with cars at the moment and had actually finished the Capri I would be very tempted. Seemed a tidy little motor from the brief fling around the field I had in it at the sussex meet.

Pretty lovely.

If my mother in law dies quite soon I'll be knocking on your door with some grubby £20's in a roll.

She is however in very rude health so I expect that this will not happen before someone else has beaten me to it.

It's from the 1980's and has a Ford badge on it, therefore I value it (based on what I've seen) at somewhere around eleventy billion pounds.

In all seriousness, 2k or so is probably a good shout.

When your mother in law dies, leaving cash to your wife.

What makes you think you will see any of it?

I would love to own this. It’d mean denying my kids Christmas and the Vatman his Christmas bonus - but nonetheless a very tempting prospect.

I would love to own this too. No idea why but I'd love to buzz around Bristol in it.

Unfortunately two problems. One is that it'll probably get nicked around Bristol. Two is that my neighbour gets shirty when I have too many cars. As we're wanting to move, probably best I don't agrivate him further.
Oldies: 1972 Austin 1100 2dr - Project Rust bucket, 1974 MGB GT - A stereotypical classic car.
Moderns: 2000 Boxster - New enough to drive sublimely but old enough to nearly feel like a classic, 2010 Aldi A4 - Owned to placate the wife on my crap buying.

Not sure where you are but I'd be tempted to put it in ACA, their first classic auction is the 26th of Jan. 2-3K seems to be the going rate recently for a mk1.

I  am toying with the idea of selling this Fiesta... I don't use it ,and  it's taking up valuable space in my workshop . It does need the lower half and bonnet painting properly , it has wads of history from basically one previous owner. It's up and running , presentable , and I wouldn't hesitate driving it  anywhere . ( Well I would ,as its a noisy little shitbox)  What do you think I would get for it  ?

Old Fiesta? Worth nothing really. I would give you £300 if you can deliver. That's a good price mate.

It's got to be worth at least a couple of grand. It's not an XR2, it's in a good colour, it's mechanically and structurally sound, and early Fiestas have been desirable for a few years now, Ford tax nonwithstanding.

Don't suppose you'd like to swap it for a Lada...

Current fleet: 1996 Citroen Xantia 2.0T Activa. 1993 Lada Riva 1.5EFi Estate.  1990 Mercedes 208D Auto Trail Navajo.  1985 Sinclair C5.  1973 AC Model 70.

Can't I just borrow this very very long term :-)

I'll never understand the strangeness that is scene tax on Ford and VW. I suppose it can be a good thing as at least it means you can get the bits.

I'm sure it'll be easy to sell even at around £2000. Shame the fate of so many lately hasn't been rust but the stupid engine change lowering lot.

I also am confused by scene tax.

I can appreciate doing it to a car that requires quite a bit of work to put back on road so by the modifying route it gets saved, but I couldn't do it to a decent motor, I've seen quite a few mint low mileage cars destroyed by new owners "improving" them and subsequently smashing them up

Unfortunately my current car has "scene tax", but this only seems to apply to aftermarket parts. Second hand original parts are shit cheap.
Currently someone on the forum is selling 4x standard 17" wheels with tyres for £50. Unfortunately they're over near Blackpool or I'd have them.
