Well unless you were in a hole, you must have had a bad radio.

Could get R2, R3, R4, R1, Galaxy 101, Classic and Red Dragon 102.6 and that was about it.

Funny how songs bring it all back is t it?

“Would I lie to you?” by Charles and Eddie. Christmas 1992, working as a Trainee Manager for Sainsbury’s in Ilford. Being the trainee the boss decided what i needed was a dose of hard work to harden me up and so he put me on the night shift for two weeks before and after Christmas. 12 hours of filling shelves with some of the oddest characters known to man was surreal. Anyway, Charles and Eddie were played pretty regularly at 2am, 3am, 4am, fuck it just put it on repeat, nobody is listening anyway. I was though. Oh yes, I was listening and I will despise that song until I die. Shame, it’s actually an OK song but forever linked to a crappy time.

Occasionally “Sleeping Satellite” would pop up. Usually followed by Charles and Eddie....

I hated that song and it still drives me mad.

Would I lie to you. Oh yeah!

So you would lie and you are pleased with yourself about it.

Stupid song.

Sleeping Satellite is also one of the worst songs ever.

In work at 7am this morning, and the phone goes( 2hours before work time), customer from the Netherlands wants to know when he can have his results. Given that he sent the samples yesterday and we’d not had them in the 12hours later it wasn’t going to be soon.

The day got worse.

I love these type of calls, I always used to be first in, before office hours and there would always be a ringing phone as I was walking in, I'm convinced that some people think that we live there.

Wasn't there a thrwad on gere about radio srations or summat.

Anyway, I had 2, sometimes 3 perfect radio stations when I was plating; Heart 80s, particularly in the mornings because; Absolute 80s, another fave of mine was somewhat annoying, too much talking from overly enthusiastic presenters and not enough music until after midday. Lastly: Sout al-Khaleej (sounds of the Gulf) an Arabic music radio station that I could only get around the London area and up to about Oxfordshire.

KISStory sometimes saw airtime with me and I occasionally got some Dutch stations when I was down Colchester/Ipswich areas too.

Funny indeed. I have quite fond memories of that Charles & Eddie tune, mostly because it was on in a club when I made a passable attempt to erm 'get to know' an attractive girl with more front than Blackpool. Sadly, this never went anywhere as 2 days later she saw me in my car with my then girlfriend. Oh, how she didn't laugh.

My mate used to work in a Costcutter on eves and weekends when he was young - he can’t stand Beautiful South because it was played on loop on Costcutter radio .
It’s brilliant because I play it down the phone to him sometimes and he gets proper mad and hangs up .

Sounds a lot like my day. On Tuesday at 6pm I got an email saying something wasn't working. Woke up at 0500 worrying about it, spent all morning investigating then at 1300 asked customer if they had done X. No, they had not. Once X was done, problem solved. At 1305 get an email " did you get a chance to look at Y, that's very important ". Well, err, no I was a bit busying chasing my tail all morning.

Then at 1400 broadband went down, didn't come back on until 2300. Excellent.

Radio Matryoshka in London is pretty good. Russian station who will play Ed Sheerhan or Little Mix and then follow that with some Russian rock music, some of which sounds OK. No idea what any of it means though, can’t be any more nonsensical than Israel’s Eurovision winner

On the way to sf15 in Wales I was driving past Birmingham, and flicking through the stations and found some pirate drum and base station, it was awesome! It went after 20 or so miles though sadly.

Taking the Piss.

Spot on. I done quite a lot of work for an extremely well orf family member (and reluctantly got paid for it). This gave me an insight to how they managed to get their fingers in all sorts of pies and unfortunately for everyone else it meant fucking people over, especially the easy target little guy.

They won't pay until they have to, you'd be surprised at how many bills just 'go away'. It's one way that the rich get richer. This fucking over also included doing it to other family members too which is a shame really. Ruthless, nice house and boat tho.

this is the approach to Switch island , google view thanks , google the dam place and you see why its hated ....

seriously they are putting up a big new sign across the M57 here  to show what lane to be in , yep , right next to the HV lines ..

and some light up studs to show the lanes , not that anyone looks up from dash/mobile/paper/snack to check the lanes till the last moment ..

mega tons of cement for supports and crash protection ... all this for people who cant read the signs on the approach to the junction ......

WHAT WAS WRONG WITH STICKING A SIGN ON THE RAILWAY BRIDGE ?????????

You know when it prompts you to log in when you connect to the WiFi? So that they can charge you/make sure you’ve paid?

That’s a captive portal. Lots of devices won’t load it properly so you can’t connect them to public WiFi like that
