I had a job to scholes today , what a beautiful area , admittedly it were cracking T flags but I thought I'd see what was about as it looks like MX5 country when I spotted the oil can cafe on the map

JK classics and the oil can cafe do behind the scenes tours , looks like April may and June are sold out but it does say they do tours for groups of 20

£15 which includes a full English and an hour looking round the projects on the tour

As a lad I worked in an actual carding shed just up the road from there in Meltham, producing 80/20 wool/nylon slubbing for twisting and spinning in to carpet yarn.

Hope that helps.

Me too for a whole two weeks! This must have been er 22 or so years ago now and the mill has been flattened. Thinking a it it was a good job but I was a total dick then :-)

Anyway I've heard of this place but never been. Didn't we try to arrange some kind of visit ages ago that went tits up?

It's a nice little place that, decent cafe and always some interesting cars and such knocking about. The classic car business don't mind people just wandering in and looking around too.

AIUI they're supposed to be moving much closer to Holmfirth at some point, but I have to say I thought they'd have done that by now.

Strangeangel (where is he lately?) often speaks of and odd experience with a passer by there, wherein he was approached by someone who wanted to criticise the pepperpots and GTi seats in the BX of many shiters.

Vulgalour organised a meet there once I think? Can't remember what I turned up in.

There was a hand painted Fiat Multipla though. Was it shocking blue? It was horrific. I have blocked most of the details of it through prolonged and excessive drug use but even after all that am still aware of the fact that I saw it, I just cant unsee it.

This post has brought the memories of it flooding back. I'm off to the shop for some Special Brew and some Meth.
