Just thinking out loud.... MG ZT 2.5 V6, swap options?

I have a lovely former well known AS MG ZT, V6 flavour and in possession of a virtually brand spanking new MOT. Belts done and previously very well cared for. Colour is Le Mans green IIRC.

It's a lovely car but my isue is I always wonder what else is out there. It's an illness I think. Now, keeping this beastie is no hardship, I just want to make that clear. However, I do hanker after a BINI, it's an itch thing.

Is there anything out there that people might consider swappage for?

The car is located in a barn in Essex, it is SORNED. Also previous Cat D I think but I've never really ever given two fucks about 'that sort of thing', especially with cars from on here.

Anything?.

ZTs are GR9. especially the V6. expensive cambelt changes are the biggest woe, but they seem to rarely snap anyway and really its a 100k so one swap in the cars lifetime job. Clutch is a biggie too.

VIS motors are also made out of chocolate and are almost always knackered. Most dont notice when theyre broken but fixing them makes the car much more sprightly.

I cant find anything under a grand i like more than these.

I parked next to a lovely grey one today in Bulwell - no phone so couldn't pap the lovely MG meets Rover juxtaposition. Had a good nose around inside and out, was in great condition if a little grubby.

Maybe the old fudster in me though, but I think I'd still prefer a 75 Connie over a ZT.

I don't think I have any interior shots to hand, soz. The arches are rusting a bit, I think it'd be fair to say most Pumas are like that now :(

Theres a Rover specialist in Whitburn who will do KV6 belts for something like 250 labour and same again labour wise for a V6 clutch.

I'm thinking (we shall see of course) that if someone works on these regularly they will know the labour-saving tricks that would have regular garages disassembling everything from the boot latch forwards to carry out major work.

Just something to bear in mind is all.

I do like the ZT, especially in that green or trophy blue but I also prefer my connoisseur.

Oh, now that does look good in the piccies. Maybe I just need to have a quick peek at the weekend. Just a teeny tiny peek. I mean what harm could it do.

Maybe just sit in it for a little while, maybe just turn the engine on and just, you know, blip that throttle a bit.

What possible harm could it do.
