Mrs “new” car landed on Thursday so I took to the Jaaaaaag with the cleaning bug today. Looking much much better.

Can’t believe how mucky he was, why are cars that most females use filthy inside. Took me 4 hours!

Goodbye old friend, sold for the princely sum of £2750. Felt guilty if I’m honest.

Now I’m scouting for an old one

That's 1/3 of what I paid for mine two years ago.

Either I was an idiot or he got a total bargain.

Bit of both maybe? It was 150k miles which is ok for one of these, I did have it 5 years and lost about £2k over the period but had fallen out of love with it after she who mustn’t be named ruined the corners with her total lack of awareness as to where the corners were.

Overall it did a job for me and I was happy with what it returned me. If the paint would have been as bought then I’d have been expecting a little more. They’re popping up at lower and lower prices at the moment but I’d probably buy a petrol one for repair simplicity if I ever fancy one again.

I paid £1500 for my Petrol/LPG 3.0 X350 last year - but it had 260K on the clock.

Now on 270K plus

Much more of a bargain than my previous TDVi

It’d have to be £5-600 for me (I’ve spent most of XJ money already) to be interested and that’d be rude of me and then I’d have to give it to my dad so I didn’t technically own it.

What’s the box like? Fluid, filters and a new rad yet? Rear subframe still attached? Sills in place? Lower arms good? Nav? Facelift? Small/big wheels?

Too many questions I’ll go find the thread

I've just been to look at an 03 4 litre one of these, nice car few blebs on the doors, scuff on one bumper corner (but small so not worth doing) and really well specced. Done about 140 000 and I got the guy down to £2900 is that good, bad or indifferent?

I've just had the gearbox serviced, it had a new rad two years ago and very little rot at all.

I cant let it go that cheap ;)

That XJ does look very very nice indeed.
