Brodders
Soz chief, I'd understood the breakfast thing was off with SL and Bornite unable to make it, so I just cruised on past. Although I did end up stopping at Cambourne Morrisons for diesel on the way back - much cheaper than anywhere on the A428 / A14.No problem, funnily enough I think I was behind you most of the way through Milton Keynes (if it was you in the red 205). Anyway, here are my photographs from the day, which may not match the quality of the other ones on here, should give a further taste of the day (although this will probably be split into two parts due to how many photos there are). Starting with RobT's beige Metro Pair of Avengers Along with further Hillman action Multitude of Cavaliers Strong number of Triumph saloons in attendance Bramz's troublesome, but gorgeous 164 Pair of Allegros Spot the shitter Along with a decent number of R8s at the show, including Flat4Alfa's very nice 420 and the ex-Bramz 216 (with the blue leather) Capri and Zodiac Bucketeer, egg, Skizzer and 13 others

davidfowler2000
Time for my standard format event reply. Thanks to:Mr and Mrs 6Cylinder for hosting us all at the Field of Dreams™ with all the usual activities. The Family Silver for The Silvers' Breakfast Club™.TonyG for a lift to the chip shop.Ghosty for rescuing my camping chair when I drove away without it. I had been looking forward to this event for a while and I wasn't disappointed. A good turnout, new faces (many of whom I've forgotten names already), plenty sunshine (too much it turned out) and a cracking car show. Eventually I had to leave so that I could find the cooler climate I am more used to but even then the 770 mile round trip was a worthwhile exercise and I still aim to do a FoD gathering again at some point. Leaving the field of dreams at 1750, I decided to go via Milton Keynes, M1, M18, A1(M), A66, M6, M74 rather than the usual M40, M42, M6, M74 owing to absolutely chronic roadworks from Stafford to Manchester. From Milton Keynes to home, Google reckoned it was 2 minutes slower using the east coast rather than the west coast and seeing as I would barely have to slow down on the route via the east coast, it was a no brainer. Stops were at Newport Pagnell services for migraine mitigation supplies (too much sun), Tibshelf for a pee, temporary lights on the A66 and a pee stop / leg stretch at Todhills. So that's 3 out of the car stops and a 30 second stop for lights. Oh and the A1 was shut between J50 - 51 and 52 - 53 but the diversion was simple and added less than 5 minutes to the journey. It still took 6 hours, 20 minutes to get home at a constant indicated 75mph (GPS 70mph). After 6 hours sleep in the Volvo and a day in the hot sun, the last 3 hours or so from Scotch Corner were absolute torture and a stop at a service station hotel at Southwaite was not ruled out however I pressed on and with much weaving all over the road from tiredness I made it back to the new pad in Glasgow for 0010. Proceeded with 11 hours in bed then 3 hours in front of the TV watching Star Trek TNG. Fuel economy:Southbound - 37.2mpgNorthbound - 36.3mpg Oh and I didn't just forget my chair - there's 2 big bags of crisps and 2 bags of peanuts if anyone wants them. Good weekend. WOULD DO AGAIN! Anyways, some of my photos. Jerzy Woking
Couldn't get to the FoD's but met a few from here, including Panhard65 who got me interested in Monet Goyon's (and importing shitey bikes from Europe). Was going to say hello Bramz7, but you were engaged in trying to open the boot of the 164 and I had no suggestions (well, helpful ones) to get it unlocked. FotU was excellent, remembering how many of the cars there, members of my family ran the same models back in the 70' 80's and 90's. Weekend topped of with a visit to Santa Pod for the Dragstalgia event, where I got to see the bikes and cars I watched run up the strip in the 70's and 80's running the quarter mile once again. Nostalgia is sometimes well underated!!
Brodders
Due to computer failure (two times in the middle of creating this post), please find even more photos later than originally expected. E30 with avocado interior Fiat Coupe Very clean Mk1 Focus. I know a few eyebrows were raised about this getting in, but I think this wasn't too out of place. Clean Mk1s are getting thin on the ground and will most likely will disappear within the next few years (also I happen to like them a lot) Mk5 Cortina I am sure this 9000 belongs to someone off here, but I can't remember who for the life of me. Early Maestros Colour coordinated Mazdas One for the Italian shite fans Very rare Subaru Mustard Marina estate Immaculate BMW 2002 Astramax straight out of the early 90s Hyundai Stellar piloted by one of us. catsinthewelder
Thanks to everyone for a cracking weekend. I missed Fridays fun but was at the show nice and early on Saturday to see the arrivals. The show was great and full of nice people who wanted to talk about cars. As well as ASers old and new I talked to a few Hubnut fans who spotted me by the Dacia and a few other folk who owned cracking motors like the Renault 18 diesel estate. It was great to meet Panhard and his fantastic hearse There was some lovely cars in front of the house that I nearly missed. And some shonkier shite later on. DBrown67
It was good to meet you and admire your superb Anglia van. While we were chatting about your Regal 3-30 you mentioned you had fitted an electric fuel pump. I've got one to fit (3psi, positive earth compatible) - any tips? Did you replace the entire fuel pipe from the tank with R9 rubber tube? Mine still has the thin walled translucent plastic pipe which is sound and sturdy but a weird size, making it difficult to match up with currently available fuel pipe or universal filters. I may re-pipe mine with R9 rubber or possibly metal pipe. I want to fit my pump near the tank, away from the hot engine bay. Did you remove and blank off the mechanical pump or simply use the electric pump as a low pressure boost to the existing pump? Comments and advice will be gratefully received. Would love to see the 3-30 one day. Was very nice to meet you too! Lovely Regal you got there and was nice to see an early model up close. I decided to rip out the old rigid nylon type pipe completely. Replaced tank to carb fully with R9 grade pipe. Some people advise against rubber pipe front to back but I can't see how it makes much difference. My pump is a Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R pump which is very low pressure. Anything up to 3 psi should be fine for your carb. I mounted mine on both Regal and Anglia to the underside of the floor as close to the tank as possible. Just need to run an ignition live under the carpet and through a hole to reach the pump. Then just a good earth to chassis. Inline filter installed as well close to the tank in boot. I blocked off the original fuel pump hole on the block with a plate. Can get the blanking plate from Mini specialists on Ebay very easily for a few pounds. Just check your pump mounting is for the same size pump. My Regal takes an awful lot of cranking to get it started and with the electric pump it will prime itself in seconds prior to first start. That's the idea anyway! Not yet actually driven with the pump installed. I will use good quality clips throughout and I also have a Robin fuel drip tray that sandwiches under the carb. Anything to help with any possible fuel leaks. Back to the show itself and as everyone said, it was fantastic. Coupled with two evenings of Autoshite car talk at the FoD... what more could I wish for? I really hope to get my Reliant Regal to FotU next year. My Anglia van looks OK at the show but as it's modified maybe not exactly the thing they're looking for.
