Time to move another one on and get the Maestro van back on the road….

1994 Rover  214SLi.  Racing Green over grey.  MOT 31/1/19.  81382 miles (approx. 340 miles since MOT).

Bodywork has never been welded and is very solid (MOT tester was impressed) but does have a few minor cosmetic issues which (hopefully) are shown in the photos.  Slight bubbling on offside front wing and bottom of driver’s door, slight paint mismatch and surface rust on offside sill (below driver’s door and at rear).  One 10p size bit of filler in nearside rear arch. Some stonechips and minor scratches to bonnet.  It still looks very presentable though as the photos hopefully suggest.

Engine, gearbox, clutch etc are all excellent.  Absolutely no sign of head gasket failure and none of the common k-series tappet noise when cold.  Tyres are almost new and matching, albeit budget make (Mohawk).  Battery almost new and has had a recent oil and filter change.  The only impending issue is that the trailing arm bushes will need doing sooner rather than later.

Electric front windows work fine.  Electric sunroof untested (I didn’t want it stuck open!).  Central locking works with the key; unfortunately the remote fobs had been lost by the previous owner.  Rear wiper doesn’t work (washer does) and clock only works when it feels like it.  Decent quality Sony CD/radio fitted.

Interior is generally clean and tidy, although there are pock marks to the driver’s seat (pictured; presumably a previous owner was a smoker).

Shiter’s price £395; will be advertised for more in the usual places after the weekend.

Located 5 miles South-East of Wisbech on Norfolk/Cambridgeshire border.

Wait till it goes on Bumtree and you get "my m8 woose a mechanic says the head gaskit has phailed, wont my muney back 2nite"

You may well be right, but touch wood to date I've not had any problems selling on Gumtree.  Sure, plenty of £100 tonight offers which get ignored, but in the main those who have made the effort to get off their sofa and come and view have turned up with cash and driven off into the sunset never to be heard from again.  Maybe I'm just lucky, although I think a combination of the age ot cars I usually sell any my location help; I suspect it's worse in more highly populated areas.
