Magpie215
I remember my grandad (rip) telling me that he used to have one back in the day. I think they were thought of as a fairly quick machine back then. richardthestag, Squire_Dawson, strangeangel and 2 others

Dick Longbridge
Javelins are lovely looking things when up and together. ‘Do not paint’ is bollocks in the case of this car - it looks rougher than a badger’s arse as it stands. Let’s hope someone with steel bollocks is prepared to take it on. chodweaver, purplebargeken, Squire_Dawson and 4 others

LC Torana
"Spear wheels" Massala had them on his chariot. But seriously, these cars are not for the faint of heart. Complexity that makes a P6 Rover look straightforward. Almost nothing is conventional.

Squire_Dawson
Me! Me!Me! (Is what I would like to say). Years ago I had my heart set on a Jav but nowadays I feel indifferent towards them. They are thoroughbred cars with racing pedigree and had impressive performance as alluded to. Spares are not a problem for any Jowett model thanks to the efforts of the Jowett club and their native Yorkshire grit. The early models were very troublesome and prone to snapping crankshafts, early engines also had hydraulic valve lifters but these were soon deleted. I do not think any car will still be around with these faults as from the PD series onwards all the problems were ironed out. The body is Gerald Palmer's work.If the advertised car has its running gear that is a bargain. alf892 and Yoss
