Sadly I never thought to get pics but the Subaru Impreza I briefly dabbled with had two perfect footprints on the headlining above the passenger seat about two feet apart. I only noticed them when I accidentally let the seat back horizontally. I can only begin to guess how they got there............

About 25 years ago when I was getting parts from a Ford Cargo in a breakers  I found a pair of heavy duty molegrips jammed in a part of the chassis. I took them back to the workshop, cleaned them up and I was still using them at the weekend when doing some work on our central heating system.

My Megane yielded some scabs when I first cleaned it inside after buying it (the human sort, not rust) I was wretching at that point. However the PO left a decent wheelbrace on the boot which has remained there together with a 5th wheel trim.

When I cleaned out the lock - up that my wife used to own, I found a Granada Mk2 Handbook (which I still have - anyone want it?) a Escort Mk 4 Xr3i Instrument Binnacle (sold that on Ebay for £40) and a Leyland car wheel centre cap (still in my shed or garage somewhere).

Oh and the original Bible. Which was nice.

LAST OWNER WAS SON OF A BANKER

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And if it is broke just ignore it, and maybe it'll be sort of OK...?

What is that?

I’ve never found anything exciting, in my current car I found lots and lots of sachets of mayo. I’ve had pens and the odd coin but that’s it

Didn't someone go to weld the sills on something like a 4 x 4 Panda only to find it contained several shotgun shells?

2.5 metre, thick welding cable, jump leads in a shogun i bought.
I would have returned them if the head gasket didn't blow within a week and upon removal, found the head bolts little more than finger tight, undid them all with a 3/8 ratchet.

I found a lovely posh Brabantia ice scraper in an old Audi I had a few years back and its a godsend every winter and it saves me damaging my debit card scraping the windscreen in the mornings.

Also last year I needed to take the seats out the Z3 to replace the bushes and found lots of old cigarette packets underneath from the 90s upto 2014.

It was quite interesting as you could see the original owner started on the Dunhill's and then it went downhill as the car got cheaper down to banger status as after that it was B&H then lambert and butler then onto cheap bootleg baccy and Rizla packets.

More annoyingly I left a CD in the player of my old C70, very disappointing

Found under the seat of the Bedford PC when I bought it a year ago - it had not been used for a while.

Meanwhile the Morris 10 yielded this-

Obviously the last owner weakened and indulged himself with this aftermarket Lucas demister, just a hot wire thing you stick on the windscreen. Originally you were supposed to open the screen to clear it, virtually no 30's car had any heating.

I bought a Xantia Estate off a Polish gent a few years ago. After a while water started leaking into the load area, which is a well known fault on the Estate.Under the tailgate trim there is a thick plastic membrane which closes off a large hole in the metalwork which often leaks around the edge. When I checked,it was leaking, but the dried streaks of water were brown.I pulled the membrane off and stuffed up inside was a 200 carton of soggy Polish cigarettes. The po must have been desperate for cheap fags to bother with doing that. Then he must have just forgotten about them.

The BX had just had a new clutch fitted, when it was discovered that the operating arm was knackered.

In one of the car's boot side pockets sat a brand new clutch operating arm...
