Cars sometimes come to us with added extras - we only find them when we get home or have a clear-out. Any choice items - apart from loose change and car park tickets you found in the car? Just out of my Citroen's glove box.

A hamburger from a well know fast food chain under the rear seat of my old Santa Fe. The burger looked the same as when they are bought which was a slight worry. Golf ball in the boot of the 75. Old shopping list in the Reliant which had STORK butter on it. Stork was the only thing on the list in capitals.

Wonder if the previous owner was Doris from near Wakefield? The knife could have been for her STORK butter?

A Swiss army knife, just a small one with one blade & scissors. Probably been a keyring as there is a small bit of chain still attached.

A strip of Green Shield stamps and a mass card under the back parcel shelf of my Viva HC.

Pair of market-stall grade sunglasses and a Tesco receipt from 2001 in the centre console of my scrapper Laguna.

A cassette copy of UltraSonic's 'Global Techno' and a lot of broken glass in the side pocket of my red Polo breadvan.

About AUD$1.40 in 5c coins, stuck into a solid block with spilt superglue, lodged permanently in the centre console of my Corona (ergo not technically loose change).

Quality items all!

I found the chrome plastic grille from a Frog model kit of a Morris 1100   It was in the door-pocket of a recently-purchased Landcrab (also a Morris...).   I took it back to the guy who sold me the car and he was pretty grateful.   Apparently he bought the kit at a boot sale, dropped the whole thing into the door pocket and the grille must have slipped out of the box.

Less salubrious items have included knickers and tights (Mini), copious amounts of dog hair (Mk1 Grandad) and a leaking biro in the glovebox of a Cortina.

Been lucky with the odd tool, though - I still have a Snap-On stubby ratchet found in a Mk2 Granada and a wheel-nut spider that was in my Oxford.

There was a broken pair of spectacles down the side of the Cowley boot.   Those have stayed in the car as they almost certainly belonged to the car's only previous owner.    Tools aside, I quite often leave found items in the car - hopefully the Oxford is still running round with a 5p. parking ticket from Twickenham in the glove box.

Some stuff takes years to surface - Mrs Rocker lost an earring down the side of the 190E drivers seat last month.   Subsequent retrieval attempts located a dinner fork that has never belonged to us and we have had the car 8 years.....

Yea nice to leave some things - particularly in older cars...they do tell a tale of previous generations. Not sure about Ann Summers. I may give her a wash and put back on the screen.

Found a large rusty and very battered hammer inside the Alto Zens quarter panel. Only became visible when welding the sill.

We've had a thread similar to this before and I recounted the story of a W123 250 "limo" that had a packet of intimate photographs of a very adventurous young lady hidden under the driver's seat.
Me and my mate found them when cleaning the Merc for sale and put them in a drawer in our office ( 1974 Bessecar in the corner of our barn)
A very agitated woman appeared at my door one evening asking if we'd found anything in the car, I pretended not, to save embarrassment . I hadn't got time to take her to the farm where the car was, so I got my partner in crime to take her to look for them.
Turns out she renacted all the pictures with him in the Merc, the caravan , the barn etc etc. He took great delight in explaining what happened and where ever time I sat down for a cup of tea or something , almost put me off me chips when he told me what he did over the dining table...

Sold the limo to aTurkish guy from Egdware who was going to drive Arabs around London in it - pre London Private Hire licensing, obviously- it was a nail!

When restoring my Stellar I found these:

DSC_4963.jpg

which I initially took to be Korean coins, dropped by a production line worker. They were subsequently pointed out to be Japanese, so the most likely explanation was a now ex-girlfriend, who'd just returned from Japan, who must have dropped them.

Dating from slightly more recently, I found this:

DSC_4918.jpg

which belonged to my then girlfriend, now wife :-)

Micheal McCuntyre DVD in a PT Cruiser

Can't help but feel that's the worst of the lot.

I found something which was later identified to be a personal radiation detector under the seat of my MX5. The guy I bought it from worke at AWE so that figures.

My Impreza was JDM and still had its emergency flare under the dash, which was good fun setting off. There was another in the boot too which I left.

I found some industrial air line fittings under the seat of my p38.

I found the work name badge info the previous owner of £8CAR (Andy, not the Andy I got it from).

I’ve left a Darlington parking ticket in my BMW from the previous owner, i’ve had it 5 years.

It always amuses me that e46s vie with the PT Cruiser as the car that's too shit for Autoshite,

I found a duplicate birth certificate of the son of the original owner of the Jag under the back seat, now resides in the service history as I could not track the bloke down to return it.

I also found a steak knife in the centre console (still there), 1 & 2 cent coins that were recalled from circulation in 1992 under the front seats and 2 melted gummy worms under the rear carpet that had to be scraped off. Yuck!

Over on the blue forum there was a similar thread to this, which included a story from a guy who lifted the spare wheel out of his Porsche 924 and discovered masses of photos with faces cut out and a couple of scalpel blades knocking around as well....
