bramz7
I am in love with this Rover 800. It's so corny to drive but it's like driving a T series powered sofa. I need a VM powered one. Dippy
Fitted a new exhaust to the brick yesterday only £77 for 2 silencers and 2 pipes and the parts were off the shelf for a 20 year old car. Hopefully these shiny new parts will impress the mot inspector in a couple of weeks.

155V6
I spent a bit of time pulling bits off of the donor Puma today. The wheel nut key was nowhere to be seen,I thought I'd end up buying something to get them off.I thought it was worth a try hammering an old socket over 1st though,& it worked, only breaking on the last one Cavcraft

wuvvum
Just nabbed a secondhand Doom Box for the Rover 75 (Roverron Synergy 2) off eBay for 60 quid. Not too bad considering they're 150 new. Hopefully it'll make the performance a little less sedate - although fitting looks to be slightly more involved than a generic Chinese box, it ought to be more effective too. fordperv
Yeah they were still good, I wanted to clean and grease the caliper sliders and brackets before winter so thought I'd put new pads in at the same time as I thought they would be a little thinner

purplebargeken
Took the Toledo out for a spin today and it was good. Lobbed her onto my mates 4 post lift to have a proper look underneath. Condition-wise, just lovely. Needs a steering rack as there is some play, a brake hose and a gearbox mount. Not bad at all really. Got many smiles and thumbs up signs from folk along the way. andy18s, LightBulbFun, mrbenn and 4 others
bramz7
Someone at my work has a pristine looking P38 RR they've spent a fortune on getting on the road. Yesterday from a train I was working I noticed the indicators had stuck on permanently. He was telling me today he got back and it was flat as a pancake. And was making crackling noises behind the dashboard when it was running again. It's now being fixed but Jesus, never ever will I want to try one. *Grin because there is a lot of old car people at my work. One of them owns that Ogle Scimitar thing. bangernomics
Usually p38 woes are the crap tracks on the two layer mess under the drivers seat. Spent many an hour soldering jump wires on those bstards. myglaren

It's everything a Rover 800 isnt. Mind you, they are both pretty good looking cars in my eyes. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that bollocks.... Zelandeth
I wish they had a 6th gear, but despite initially not being as comfy as the laguna I went to Grantham and back at the weekend and got out feeling much fresher than I did in the laguna! I feel that about the Activa as well. It's quite low geared (70mph is around 3k) and has more than enough torque to handle an additional gear... Would help cruising MPG too, even though it just about manages mid 30s on a steady motorway run. beko1987
beko1987
Another vacuum collector found a Hoover Constellation on facebook near Coventry... STUNO
A lady in this town has beaten the system !She took delivery of a Mobility scooter that is about the size of a Renno Twizy. As it is a Mobility Scooter there are no registration requirements for it, but, it is just like a single seater car inside. It has a nice seat, a steering wheel, windscreen wipers and probably a heater. She drives it on the road because, A. it's size and B. it can keep up with the traffic ( 50kph is achievable).Police have investigated after stopping her antics and have agreed that as it is a M.S. there is no requirement to register and it is bloody lethal in the footpaths, so have decided to ignore it until the laws change. Scooters can be ridden on the road legally if the footpath is not "suitable" and they have all agreed that the only suitable place for it is the road. Mally
As I understand it, these things have to be registered and display a reg plate, but there is no charge and you don't need a licence or insurance. anonymous user

Cavcraft
I thought a scooter that can do more than 4mph and had lights has to be registered with the dvla You can ride the new electric mopeds on footpaths as long as they're only ridden in the 12mph (max) setting. Anyhow, in other news my work's do was a great success last night, even the bit where my presence was no longer required in one of the pubs, for attempting to impersonate the disc jockey. The two large gentlemen who were on the door were even good enough to escort me to the entrance. How nice was that? In slightly-not-as-good-news, everything still tastes of vodka this morning so I'm going to take young #clouddog @barbaraLeeTravis for a walk now. dome, Ghosty, GrumpiusMaximus and 4 others
