uk_senator
Some of you know me from Flickr, but I know many of you aren't Flickrites, so I thought I'd put some of my favourite spots in here too instead of piggybacking other peoples spotting topics.I`ll start of putting some of my older spots (from the last few years) alphabetically from Alfa to VW, adding current ones randomly as I go. Thats the plan anyway..So, Alfa: Well, that took much longer than I was expecting.. In the words of British leylands quality inspector, that`ll do.. bramz7
Now I really want a 164. Especially a VM 2.5 Diesel.... I've long been a fan of your photographic efforts, great to see them on here. uk_senator
lesapandre
How far do you go back with these? And for us statistically minded - what's the loss rate on these...ie how many are still MoT tax or still about? uk_senator
lesapandre
I live in London and am always interested in what is parked on the road in the posher parts. There was a Noble parked outside a local coffee shop but it had gone before I could get my camera uk_senator
lesapandre
I live in a not posh part - but very few older cars about and I own most of them...
uk_senator
Brilliant. When's the next instalment?I`m not sure, this took about an hour & a half! Now I really want a 164. Especially a VM 2.5 Diesel.... I've long been a fan of your photographic efforts, great to see them on here.Cheers Brammy, likewise! My Italian cousin had a Mk1 Alfa 33 with a VM diesel, & a Talbot Horizon diesel before it! How far do you go back with these? And for us statistically minded - what's the loss rate on these...ie how many are still MoT tax or still about? Most are within the last 3 years, a few go back 6-7 years, I`d say half are still on the road & around a third are still alive but off road. uk_senator
When you are down in SE8 you can guess where I live...lolI`m rarely south of the river these days, all the family I had down there have moved to the home counties! Virtually all my spottings done in outer N, NW & NE London. I`m the same though, I`m known as "the bloke with all the old bangers" in my area.. Squire_Dawson
Thanks for taking the time posting. I do like those C-reg boxy saloons, as well as the 'classic' 2-seaters. Lord Sterling
Ah yes, the return of LondonItalian. Great to see so many Alfa 164s. My Arab uncle who used to live in North London had an Black Alfa 164 2.0 Petrol Twin Spark. A very nice car indeed, he used it as a private hire cab. I reckon he sold it years ago as it disappeared off the DVLA database. uk_senator

martc
Many of those RHD Spiders have Hull registrations (RH, KH, AG, AT). David Ellison of Hull were one of the biggest of several LHD to RHD convertors; they used a kit from the factory, I suspect the Alfa's pictured must have gone through their hands. uk_senator
r.welfare
My mind is frankly blown by the fact that any company bothered tooling up a body kit for the Alfa Romeo 90. Epic spot. uk_senator

Not one but two Montreals - wow! Good stuff!I was directed to the one on steels by a neighbour, who told me I needed to do a certain route home.. Thats how known my fetish for old shite is! Thanks for taking the time posting. I do like those C-reg boxy saloons, as well as the 'classic' 2-seaters. Also, does it not prove, that opposing arc wipers look the best? The 90? Yes, I nearly wet myself when I stumbled across it, the Zender bodykit was a nice touch! I`ve never noticed the wipers on the S1 till you pointed it out. Ah yes, the return of LondonItalian. I reckon he sold it years ago as it disappeared off the DVLA database.Alright mate! Some way to go till we get to the Rovers if I continue in alphabetical order I`m afraid! I`ve had a couple of 164`s & adore them, they get my vote for the best made & engineered FWD Alfa of all time, possibly the best Alfa of all time full stop... Next is AMC! So next is Buick? Oh. No Allards then? And no Abarth or Acura either by the looks of it.Going by my computer filing system, Audi`s next, AMC is in my "American" folder, Abarth is lumped in with the Fiats, & I`ve only ever spotted 1 Allard & 1 Acura in the wild.. (Allard is in my "Limited Production" folder, Acura in with "Japanese"). Magnificent Rustbucket

lesapandre
And trivial fact I didn't know Allard made modified Ford Anglias called the Allardette - these were supercharged! https://allardsportscars.co.uk/allard-cars/allardette/ uk_senator and Magnificent Rustbucket
