Johnreno
So due to us being a six car family i am putting this back up for sale again. Now MOT'd until December 28th 2018 Its a lovely old french barge really Renault do know how to make a comfy seat, Its by no means a quick car it is large and heavy for a 2.2 4 cylinder engine but it ambles along nicely. Being a base model there is less French electronics to give you headaches.Spec.. Front electric windows drivers airbag only power steering electric mirrors5 speed manual original Renault Blaupunkt stereo with 6 speakers and a 3.5mm line in so phones and ipods can be connected. (maybe they saw the future)Steering wheel remote for stereoI have all its previous MOT's from new and the original sales receipt.132,000 miles but its going up as it is used daily Comes with some spares as supplied when i bought it from Bramz1 pair of headlights1 spare set of wheel trims (same as whats on it already)brand new unused catalytic converter a handfull of new spare mirror glasses for both sides and some Renault manuals . there are photo's on Bramz thread I need to clean it as its mingin at the moment Body is nice and it polishes up well amazingly rust free. It does have some problems mainly the heater fan resistor is fubar so the fan won't work from the control panel. I have made it so i can demist the screen just by running a fused plug to the ciggy lighter to the blower motor. (not ideal but it works)Also sometimes the remote locking is lazy and only pushes the passenger side lock up half way but that could just be the freezing weather.Starts first time and doesn't care about 2 hours of stop start traffic (yes i have tested this) £200 to someone on here. Lets keep this French barge on the forum. RobT, DVee8, pilninggas and 1 other
bramz7
Bump for this! Seriously nice car. I'd kind of wanted to buy it back but my Renault lust is satisfied by my Clio. Johnreno

doubleyeller
Like I have said on previous threads, these are undoubtedly the best (ie very reliable and superb build quality) car that Renault have made this side of the war. It's just a crying shame that the only time that Renault actually produced German/Japanese levels of reliability was also one of the rare occasions they failed to come up with a truly innovative and ground breaking car! Just look at what they were capable of: Renault 4: Mobility for the Peasant and cheaper than the 2CVRenault 5: Beat the Mini Metro to the "First small hatchback" title by 7 yearsRenault 6: A posh R4 for the socially upwardly mobile.Renault 7: The Spanish alone needed an R5 with a boot. Beat the Nova saloon to the market as most pointless booted hatch!Renault 8: Truly unique: so wheezy it couldn't even drive DOWNHILL!Renault 9: Yawn!!!!!!! But it did win car of the year in 1982 - FIX!Renault 10: An improved Renault 8 that could even run on the level!Renault 11: Ditto the R9Renault 12: Very very cheap transport for the masses and still made in South America I believeRenault 13: Nigel's probably got one....Rotten Pear: Would have one over a Golf any day!Renault 15: Stunning chrome bumper that wrapped around the bottom of the headlights.Renault 16: Small on the outside, huge on the inside, and offset rear wheelsRenault 17: See R15, but with gutsRenault 18: Groundbreaking as build quality was excellent. Great shape too!Renault 20: If the princess had only had this body type! And huge amount of extras as standard, comparatively very cheap to buy if not to run...Renault 21: Well they did do a Turbo Quadra to be fair!Renault 25: Now if this had only received the Safrane's mechanicals, would the Germans now hold the executive market? Datsuncog
Praise be to [the deity of your choice]. Delighted this has found a new keeper on the forum, not least because I was starting to crack and look at ferry prices, despite a terrifying lack of cash... Especially as I finally fixed the faulty blower in my Laguna and it turns out that it's a ten minute job costing 99p once you know what you're looking for... Safrane may well be a similar set-up. Look forward to the collection thread. cpjitservices
holbeck
Big thanks to Johnreno. The Safrane has made it to Devon. No pez stn shot as it came with enough fuel for the 140 mile trip. Have an Aldi carpark shot instead. blakey79, Brodders, Coprolalia and 12 others

Kringle
Well done Sir, a very understated steed. I look forward to seeing the craftsmanship* within. How do they compare in build quality to lagunas for example?
25v6turbo
They have very good build quality and honestly Renault actually did spent time screwing things together and soundproofing, the Safrane was an expensive luxury car for Renault and they tried as best as they could with the Phase 1 to impress.
