Ok I have succumbed to the dark side, I do still have a practical 31 year old motorhome, I bought a hybrid and wondered where I advertise my old shiter a 99 polo sdi saloon that has been my faithful steed.

Don't seem to be an appropriate member?

These saloons are miserable bastards

That's about the sum total of it. I speak as a former owner of a saloon SDI. Ran mine on Bio Diesel, it was really heavy (steering and gear change especially), you couldn't see a bloody thing out of the back, only had a rotten, thin and wiry steering wheel. Bloody dangerous in the wet IIRC, but it had a pull to the left that nobody could ever resolve, that may be why it used to skid up into the verge on right hand bends.....

Absolute misery, but ran on bio diesel and was utterly reliable. Cheap to insure, not bad tax wise. Needed a front to back job, £800 not including fitting (not even a genuine VW exhaust either), so it went to live on a farm, it's happy there

Just utterly uncharismatic in every conceivable way.
