They_all_do_that_sir
Can I suggest an event tag and dates on the OP? I'm tempted to come over, not been to Ireland for a few years & it's a lovely place so it is. Good point I think with Bulgaria being May, and Scotoshite being June we should aim for July / August. that would spread it out a bit and allow anyone mad enough to attend all three! Tadhg Tiogar
Been there - for some reason the Granada was there Was the Granada a blue one? You might have been there when the Arthur Mathews and Graham Linehan were also there, filming their reminiscences entitled "Small, Far Away" for C4. They were driving a Granada for it. Datsuncog
July/August would probably suit alright, depending on the date... and Wicklow area could work ok too - never spent any time there, only ever passing through. The next question is... do I aim to bring Troublesome TAZ, which is MOT'd and in daily use but has a tendency to blow electrical components - or make a last-ditch attempt to resurrect battered bASe KAZ, which never once let me down in over three years but refused to start once TAZ arrived and hasn't run since, and is now full of water and rubbish? I know what looks more shite... They_all_do_that_sir
They_all_do_that_sir
There's a pub near me that happily provides his lovely dry Riverside field for camping; eircooled have used it for their summer meet the last couple of years. Some of the best driving roads on the island around it tooDo you know the fella, and if so would you mind enquiring about a weekend in August that would suit him? Faker
You know what lads and lasses... we just have to agree to meet at some big car event. There's plenty of them about each year. Or how about the pinnacle of shite gatherings - junkyard jewels scrap yard (breakers in norn iron that specialises in vintage and classic cars only... I've posted pics before). A shite meet at junkyard jewels sounds good to me!! Just outside dungannon chaseracer, Datsuncog, They_all_do_that_sir and 2 others

Faker
Simply has to be the only event or venue for an Irish shitefest!! April 18 - I'll confirm the date. They_all_do_that_sir

Datsuncog
Does anyone know for sure whether the Junkyard Jewels (Anderson's Classic Dismantlers, Stewartstown) annual auction/ autojumble/ general hokeabout is in fact on this year? I'm given to believe it's usually held on Easter Monday, but despite extensive* searching I can't find any reference to a 2018 event. BorniteIdentity
I have to go to Boyle and Portadown over the next couple of months. The plan was to fly into Knock, see friends, acquire a starlet or carina cheap via DoneDeal - then drive North to see further friends before driving home. Would be happy to tie in a meet up, or maybe even drive over if ferry’s aren’t overly expensive. Datsuncog and Faker

John F
Are there plans for an actual Shitefest with camping & beers, or just a meet-up at another event? I've not been across for years, should really make more effort. Faker
