bigstraight6 Posted December 12, 2007 Share Posted December 12, 2007 Its a bit off topic, but I've just seen a TV advert for an updated remake of the St.Trinians films, starring talentless freak boy Russell Brand. There does seem to be a distict lack of originality with films over recent years, there was even that truly shite remake of the classic Ealing comedy 'The ladykillers', others that come to mind are pityful modern versions of 'Get Carter', 'Alfie', and 'The Italian job'....Is it a lack of original ideas, or a love of nostalgia? The Ladykillers is one of the all time great films of the last century and its subtle brilliance should never have been sullied by that piece of diabolical cinematic cack the Americans dared to call by the same name.
