Fairly topical in the news at the moment.. how bad is the sno up north, really? Is it "Daily Fail travel chaos" or "actually quite bad"? I have to drive up to Edinburger on Monday, most likely with a trailer on tow... is this a bad idea?

As you're going to be M-way all the way, as long as it doesn't snow much you'll be fine; despite the UK press' insistence that we're shit at dealing with snow the highways agency(or rather their contractors) have the job pretty well taped unless it's white-out conditions.

Had to change the rear bumper on fil fps dacia duster earlier, he reversed around a van parked peed up in his cul de sac at 5am on the way to work a week ago, he hit a wall opposite puncturing the bumper skin, what a lovely job changing it was, I also took the time to fit some reverse sensors at the same time as he is useless at reversing (his words), the only downfall of the whole job was when i was fitting the display to the dashboard some clever person put a couple of wires under where I was drilling for the wire to go through (which you couldn't see as the heater box is in the way) any normal person would put them along the bulkhead but no not French designers they sandwich them against the dash skin, so then I had to take the centre console and steering column out and dismantle the dash trim just so I could take the dash out so I could repair the damaged wires, the only saving grace is its a very neat installation that im very happy with so it was worth the extra fuss

This is where I mounted them to try and make them as invisible as possible because I hate how parking sensors look

It looks like the airbags deployed. So if the police really want to know they can pull the last few seconds of crash data off the airbag computer to find out what speed they really were going.

All occupants out of car and walking, so unless they want to claim for whiplash off their own insurance I doubt the police will be that interested. It was actually an RSQ3; I didn't know those even existed TBH, but that's got to be a 40 grand car.

When I left for the afternoon an hour later I found that it was slightly worse than it looked, as the Fiesta had been shunted into a Mk1 Focus and put a big dent in the back of that too. The focus is owned by...the same chap who owns the Fez! I think he wanted rid anyway, a couple of months ago I found him outside trying to start it with a flat battery, offered him a jump, but he said he only wanted to shuffle it across the road to get it out of the way. So maybe he's actually pleased...

When I returned home yesterday evening all three cars were gone!

Someone outside work arrived yesterday afternoon to collect their new mclaren. Bright yellow ( the car not the trump alike). He was late fifties, balding, and had a grey ponytail. Wife/ girlfriend perhaps a generation younger.

Are we meant to mock that? I say fair play. He could choose a lot worse than a McLaren.

When I paid my ex a wodge never to darken my door again I didn't think she would still be breaking my cars 22 years later....

I do some work on her car as she was very good to my dad in his last years, we both run old BMW 530d's though hers has a parasitic battery drain, ok if used regularly but flattens in about 4 days. As she's off all week we swapped cars on Thursday so I could have systematic look at hers and see if I could figure it out. About 8 at night I call asking if the exhaust was ok on mine, saying there'd been a bang followed by a noise and burning smell, the car was now  stopped on the seafront about a mile from where I live. I went to find she'd failed to notice the dragster stance, - it was bottomed at front. After I limped it home this what I found.....

Good work, I've never seen one quite like that and ECP don't have any springs within 50 miles so they can't sell many!

that n/s/f tyre doesn't hold air that well (its the spare, and it needs sandblasting and painting), so to make it easier to move we blew some more air into it, once we could get to the battery on my car

as far as i can see, this is the one bit of welding on the whole car, the front of the n/s sill has had a tickle at some point, and its a 43 year old mini!!!

post-18270-0-68776300-1516477867_thumb.jpg

so now it have a look inside the brake drums, put that brand new alternator on it, see if it runs, sort out the n/s seat belt, put it all back together, get it tested, use and enjoy.

it all sounds so very easy!

oh dear, what have i done..........
