Brodders
Competition now hotting up in the ‘80s Astras in Stowmarket’ category. Makes yours look even cheaper 758EE42D-541D-4E5B-AFB7-14EAC87EA0C8.jpegOoh, that is nice, I think Trigger posted it on the ECR facebook page earlier. I have never seen it around Stowmarket, but it is in better condition than mine and much shinier. trigger
Brodders
what mpgs does it get?I would guess that I have averaged around 35 mpg out of it, but I would not be 100% sure. I expected a bit better, but I don't think the 4 speed box and dodgy thermostat helped much.
Brodders
I went down to the garage to get some up to date pictures of it. As you can see it still looks pretty much the same, however I could use some advice from our resident carb experts, as it took a little bit of effort to get it started and moving. It seems to be cutting out if you lift off the accelerator when idling after first starting up, however if you use it for a couple of minutes it doesn't cut out when you lift off the accelerator, but idles high. I hadn't been to it or started it for about a week and a half, and it was rather cold (as you can probably see from the snow in the background), so could it just be a case of lack of use and rather cold weather causing trouble, or something a bit more serious? Anyway, after describing another problem on the car which I am trying to sell, I should probably post some pictures to try and convince you of its worth. Talbot
I suspect the high warm idle is the side-effect of someone trying to mask a mixture issue when cold. If the mixture is a bit lean on cold start and it has a tendancy to stall, setting the idle a bit faster will counter that. With the idle set back to where it should be and the cold-start mixture (and possibly the mixture across the range) set correctly, it may well start better and get better empeegeees. Brodders
Due to being done over by the guy who agreed to buy this (and then apparently lost his storage the day before he was supposed to collect it), this now back up for sale again, at a shitters price of £400. Anyone interested?

If my last win is anything to go by, you'll most probably end up with a great car in a couple of days Brodders and BorniteIdentity

Realistically I have space for 2 cars, so a 4th one would have caused an awful lot of trouble, which is a shame as I love 90s repmobiles.
