Its probably worth asking around to find a garage that knows LDVs rather than any local one. Iffy parts availablity combined with parts darts is unlikely to end well.

Good shout but I don’t really have anyone to ask :(

Go to the post office workshops with a crate of beer and ask if anyone does homers .

Deffo more info needed . It's no good saying " crank sensor fault " when there are loads of sub codes that will tell you if it's open circuit , mechanical fault ( damaged pick up wheel ) , short circuit etc etc

Yeah I know it needs a decent diagnostic kit hooking up to it for sure - the cheap generic one I have had on it doesn’t give anywhere near enough info

I couldn't recall ever driving one of these until the picture of the fake wood dash was shown here.

Then I remembered the sorry pile of shit Maxus camper van I drove a while back (it had that fake wood crap)

I can't say I agree much with the people that say they drive well. This one was low mileage and well together but just felt slow, old and tired with a very sloppy gear change.

I suppose that the underwhelming power could have well been caused by the tonne of polyester and chipboard kitting the back out..

Just been reading the history of these https://en.m.wikiped.../wiki/LDV_Maxus and it's quite interesting. Co development between ldv and Daewoo and GM had shares in it too, but was also owned by russian manufacturer GAZ too. Also that engine is used in quite a few cars with different power ratings too,cm engine too made by fiat, can be remapped to 155 bhp too, which would be flippin mental in a van like this. Also won quite a few awards including van of the year. Interesting reading.

My transit is a 2010 swb with the 140 bhp. It flies at keeps up with traffic. It's limited to 104 mph unfortunately where it's only at 3k revs in 6th.
