danthecapriman
Nice! Can't wait to see this, and you've already got the price right! I pass the Jago place on the A27 regularly. You can see the yellow Jago developments signs from the A27 eastbound pretty much right on the Bognor roundabout, next to the footbridge over the A27. http://www.jagodevelopments.com/Services.aspx?id=7 Having Ford oily bits you can't lose! eddyramrod

The Reverend Bluejeans
couple of hundred quids worth of 1600 X-flow , axle and gearbox. Er.... A running 1600 X Flow 711M is £500 plus. Probably rather more. 1600 box is probably a stock 1100/1300 unit (£50) but could be a GT version from a 1600 Sport (£250+), a single rail Cortina Type 3 (£150) or a 2000E Mexico unit (£500+) Rear axle? 3.77 and 3.54 are the valuable diffs. As for the V5: If it's a Mark 1 it has a value as an 1100/1300, Mexico stuff is £2000+ 1600 Sport @ £500-1000. Sort of illegal to sell a V5 and you'll have some fart from PH blabbing on but sold with the Escort running gear, perfectly ok IMO. This could be a very nice four figure payday, and sell the Jago body and chassis for a few quid afterwards.

sierraman
I’d bin the glassfibre and wood bits pronto and flog the running gear and engine as described above. Then squander the proceeds on going on holiday or something. These were cack when they were put together properly, it’s not like you are desecrating a 250 GTO Ferrari. Popular Post Stanky
Right you scurvy lot - I come to feed your perverted fantasies. So, when we got back from our family day out at the historic dockyard in portsmouth I was allowed out to play. I called the guy and said I was on my way. I strode out like a boss and headed down the street I walked round the corner and knocked on the guy's door. We went round the side of his house (he had a rusty white corsa van to for added win, but I didn't photograph it in case he though I was a completely weird) and took the CPT off the goods. tease... Weller wheels. Apparently £60 a pop? The big reveal! Looks a lot better than I was expecting TBH. Fibreglass is all the same colour, no cracks and quite strong - the seller demonstrated by standing on the cutout 'door' bit and it was fine. Under the bonnet 1600cc crossflow from a cortina. Also comes with misery-spec 1100 (as originally fitted) with 1.1 gearbox. Will this be the short ratio one? Apparently everything works except: - Master Cylinder leaks/is broken- Rad has a hole in it- battery is a bit past its best The engine turns over by hand but wouldn't run due to the battery and probably other things. Front aspect Mini Lights. Renner 5 indicators. Now onto the 'interior' as much as could be discussed. Has heaters which apparently work (when the cooling system has coolant in it). The screen is from a VW T2 camper and was brand new 3 years ago. Rool-over hoop looks solid enough - which is good because the backup rollover system is the drivers/passenger's spine. The wiring works I understand - the seats are from an XR2 fiesta and are a bit past it but are adequate considering. The guy giving it away said that in retrospect the combo of 1600 crossflow, short gearbox and tiny kerb weight probably means its a bit of a handful and the 1100cc is probably better suited, but that that 1100 needed removing too so thats mine as well by the looks of it. Next up, the less good bits Well, really only one thing. The floor Which is basically rotten plywood. You can see the handbrake bracket through one hole and the top of the fuel tank through the other. I poked my finger through the footwell floor so needs completely re-doing but its basically 2 parts. A square bit in the back and a D-shaped bit in the front. How hard can it be? Oh, and its also not SVA'd or registered. Whatever. Fuck you DVLA. So, (OBVIOUSLY) I'm now the proud owner of a Jago Jeep. Hooray! My wife hasn't yet hit me, the guy who was the previous owner was pleased it was going to someone local, I get a new toy. Everyone wins. Next up - I need to enlist some helpers to get it from its current place of storage to my house, about half a mile maybe? The brakes are seized on but it could probably be towed or shocked free with a BFH or something. Solent Shiters? Can you help? Just needs to be recovered to my garage for now and then we can have a proper assessment of just how wretched it is. Will post up in the Solent Shiters event thread. Thanks for your patience folks! danthecapriman
That looks way way way better than I was expecting tbh. I think you've scored big* with this. Shouldn't take much to make it run either. I offer my uselessness if you need it! I've got a suitable tow car but no trailer...Also I've got a gasket set for this engine and some old but usable working points, condenser etc somewhere if needed to get it running.
