All-agro, anyone want one?

Considering the mileage, history and the likelihood of a very good condition car due to a long period of ownership by a genuine enthusiast, £1500 is pretty reasonable.

If I had a nice warm garage and a spare fifteen hundred quid I’d be interested, but at the moment I don’t have either. It is a lovely colour though.

Well, its lived outdoors since he`s had it (16 years), and he`s managed to keep it looking this clean, so maybe the reports of them being well rustproofed earlier in this thread are indeed true..

Battery flatted, so no news on running, but heres moah pix.. Note theres 2 bubbles under the rear screen, some surface on the front corners of the bonnet & at the bases of the A-pillars where they join the sills, as well as a couple of cracks on the dash top round the ashtray, otherwise, quite amazing nick.

Behold the blueness (& the vast quantities of rear leg room!):..

What paperwork is around for this beauty?

I'm currently struggling to find suitable storage around Newbury sort of area.

He said he thought he had some somewhere, but I wouldnt hold my breath..

There is a number of interested parties who are viewing it in the next week, I dont expect it to be hanging around for long.

id buy this based on the pictures alone, replace outside pics for white room with bright lights £££££.

I suspect it's quite likely this is what will happen.  Spend a morning sorting the red bits in the engine bay, paint the 'bib' black, take photos in white room or in front of a suitably impressive house and put a price tag of £2995 or more on it.

Hopefully the person at the front of the queue will just want to look after it and enjoy it though.

I've just read on Facebook that this has a deposit on it now.

Having now seen the post on farcebork & spoken to his misses, I`d say he`s a budding speculator.. Which isnt what I wanted for it. As long as the nice giffer gets his dollarino`s & isnt battered down to £350, then fine.

Cest la viz or however you spell it..

That is very impressive and a credit to the owner. Looks factory fresh. Whoever ordered this car new literally went for the cheapest most basic specification he could get. They didn't even order a brake servo. Still on single circuit brakes too.

The noise on motorways & heavy brakes were the reasons he gave for letting it go.

Cant be many that still have an undrilled radio facia either.

Aye, there was no sound deadening except the carpet. Fitting some of the old-style jute sound deadening under the carpet cuts the noise level drastically. I wouldn't say the unassisted brakes needed much more pedal pressure as it was a different master cylinder to take account of that, but can see why an OAP would struggle.

Just read last posts. I hope it goes to a good home and they don't try and rip the old chap off. I bought a vw camper from a city centre garage in Sheffield. I wrote to previous owner to ask about history. He rang me up and I went round as he had a few spares I could have. Turns out the chap had owned it 30 yrs, his wife had died and he had a bit of dementia. His mechanic who he had used all those years told him no one wanted these old campers and gave him £3000. What a git!! I paid £6500 prob 2 weeks later. A good price. The old chap thought I'd been ripped off. I didn't put him straight as I thought that would be unfair. I wanted to punch the garage man but he was massive!

Guess what... The bloke I gave first refusal to didnt turn up.. The elderly gent had charged the battery, taken it round the block to clean the disks off & washed it ready as well, so he wasnt impressed..

Anyway, I`ve now heard it running, it started from cold beautifully, theres no tappet noise, no rough running & its running sweet as a nut. I don't think I've ever heard a quieter, smoother A-Series.

I`ll stick a video on youtube.
