Yoss
Hello, there's something wrong with this picture. Aha. Interloper! You have to look twice though don't you? You have to admit it sort of fits. I moved it when a few more Visa's turned up. I didn't want to get blocked in when the second row started filling up. Thanks for making me feel welcome and sorry I couldn't stop longer. I took many photos but they seem to be taking ages to upload so I'll do some more later. I really am a bit partial to the CX and XM and there can't be many moderns that can genuinely look like a classic in the way a C6 does. Imagine putting a 2008 Mondeo into a show. Thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours. As I say more pics to follow. richardmorris, chaseracer, ProgRocker and 5 others
richardmorris
Sorry I couldn’t come, but no chevron with me and I had* to go to Brooklands for the x1/9 National. I’ve had the car down with me since the start of June and have done 120 miles!
quicksilver
That Skoda does look remarkably Visa like. We must have just missed you as we saw the Skoda go by when on our way there - I guess you spotted the Maxi? I make the final tally for the weekend 14 Visas, 3 C15s, 3 Sambas, a 104 and an LNA (and a Skoda Favorit). Pretty impressive! Mrs6C
Yoss
Yes we saw you! I said to Mrs Yoss when trying to sell the idea of going to Citroen rally in a Skoda that there was a Maxi there yesterday. So she saw you first and pointed you out to me. She's quite good really, claims to have no interest in cars but always points out anything unusual on a journey.

quicksilver
What a great weekend, and the sun came out on Sunday. Here's some more pics from that day. A different Samba had turned up. Tadhg Tiogar
What a great weekend, and the sun came out on Sunday. Here's some more pics from that day. Looks like the turnout was a lot better than Saturday. A different Samba had turned up. There are only 3 Styles taxed and we had 2 of them here over the weekend. 1986 Talbot Samba Style by Adam Floyd, on Flickr You've reminded me that a family friend had a blue Samba for a few years. I drove it a few times, and had the sensation of being quite close to the ground - it was a good car to hustle around town. Shame they had to can it in the end (because 205), but it felt like fun. ….Cool stripes 1978 Citroen GS 1220 Basalte by Adam Floyd, on Flickr I like that. It's just crying out for the word "TURBO" to added to the door stripes in red block script. The ultimate ambulance 1986 Citroen CX 20RE ambulance by Adam Floyd, on Flickr All the way from Hornchurch. Surprised it's a 20RE; I thought it was a DTR Turbo 1. I think this might be the only CX Croisette currently on the road - it was put up for sale some months ago with an asking price of £9500. The numberplate is interesting - Firad makes injectors for diesel cars so I wonder if one of the previous owners had links with the company. quicksilver
The ambulance started out as a standard 20RE Familiale but effectively it's now a DTR Turbo (and is badged as such). The owner had an engine transplant done as the 2-litre struggled to drag around the extra weight of the ambulance bits. The Croisette is still for sale and I think the price has gone down a bit now. Tadhg Tiogar
...The Croisette is still for sale and I think the price has gone down a bit now. Five-and-a-half grand was the last time I saw it. I once came across a 22TRS (not sure if it was this Croisette), where the owner had done a superb job of the headlining.....if you like tartan. Yoss
And the last two. This gets my prize for the best interior. I know the CX And DS are supposed to be posher but doesnt that just look a lovely place to be. And finally without me even asking which was her favourite, and she did also express a fancy for the blue DS, which I expected, Lorraine saw this and loved it.Then she looked inside at the diagonal stripey seats, exclaimed joy at its eightiesness and said 'yeah, I'd drive that!'. Theres hope for her yet. Mrs6C and Sudsprint

This one featured in a recent issue of Classic Cars - something about it going through a number of owners, and always coming second at concours classes to a DS.... Yoss
It was lovely. If I was brave/stupid/rich enough to take one on it would have to be a mk1 if only for the dashboard. But the way the rear wheel spats kick up into the line of the bumper is rather pleasing too.
