Could you add the David Brown and discs, the xj12 jag, the banger racer escort, the thunderbird and the cortina police car to my box please?

Cheers.

Ooh... Loserone just nipped in earlier with the David Brown... but all the rest are certainly available! Added, sir.

I think you should keep the Transit.Restore it properly and get closure.

Y'know what - you're right.

I should get the necessary bits and do a proper job of it this time round.

I'd still love to display this properly, 25 years or so after I made a hash of it.

Okay, think we're up to date for tonight - all models grabbed by the lovely peoples herein have been removed from the shed to their respective boxes, and the relevant posts updated to reflect their newfound 'sold' status.

Tomorrow should bring some more, modern-made 1/43 stuff.

Stay tuned!

Well, comrades.

It's not much of a secret I have a bit of a weakness for Soviet chod. Following the Iron Curtain collapse, a certain model stall in Bangor Market often had all manner of crude but very appealing Eastern Bloc minichod available at temptingly low prices in the early 90s, and it's true that I indulged myself heartily. Lada, Zil, Volga, GAZ, RAF - all good stuff.

What was rather less good was, unbeknownst to me, the propensity for said models to suffer from rather appalling and terminal metal fatigue. It was a heartbreaking moment when, on retrieving my diecast from storage for the first time about eight years ago, I realised that a fair few of them had basically crumbled into pieces in their boxes. Efforts to glue them were fruitless.

Sniffletissue sadface :(

But those that survived still seem okay, and I intend to put together a small display of them at some point in the not-too distant future.

A few years ago, the decadent capitalist running dogs at Poundland delighted me when they started knocking out surplus DeAgostini partwork models of Russian service vehicles at the kind of prices I like.

I'm not entirely sure what the theme of the partworks was - possibly "The Golden Nostalgia Collection of Vehicles Your Family Members Were Hustled Into And Never Seen Again" - but they were nicely detailed.

I bought every different version I could find on the shelves but, on sober reflection, some are less interesting to me than others, while others are duplicates I hoovered up by accident because I wasn't paying attention.

They all come with packaging, though most have been opened. Because I'm like that.

So! С шоу.

Still sealed! I bought two as I had a hare-brained idea to strip one back and repaint it in a plainer colour, but I've enough to be getting on with...

£5 solo, £3 to add to an existing box.

(Apparently, this car was available as an add-on to Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas. Weird, dude.)

It's all plastic (therefore possibly Junkman approved) and complete in its original box.

Small crack to the bar below the windscreen (not really visible).

I think Ebay sellers are maybe a bit optimistic in looking forty Euro for this model (plus postage), but then what do I know?

You can own this plasticky slice of history for £10, posted direct to your very own door, or £8 when added to an extant box of models.
