The last thing I need is a Pug 106. I have no need, and indeed no room for another car, with two non-runners blocking the drive and no garage or outdoor facilities to work at any of them. And what I definitely don't need is having to fetch a car I have no room for and no need for across a substantial body of water, with all the expense and ball-ache of 6 a.m. flights, trains, buses, taxis and non-connecting phones, followed by piloting an unfamiliar car on a flat-out drive against the clock up to Scotland for the last bloody ferry, with no tools or backup drivers, on a dark freezing November evening, to then spend a further three-and-a-half hours crammed into an Irish Ferries lounge bar with (inevitably) a bunch of rugby fans bellowing 'The Fields Of Athenry' and releasing pungent Guinness farts, only to get home in the small hours of the morning to find the door on the chain and my clothes on the lawn, in the rain. No sir, I do not need any of that in my life.

And so, for the reasons outlined above, I would like numbers 17 and 34, please.

My previous form in winning roffle prizes is not distinguished:

1991: plastic bag of miniature lavender soaps at a Scouts fundraiser day

2005: tray of assorted meat at a harness racing club in Sydney that may* have been left out of the fridge for a bit too long

2014: bottle of non-alcoholic wine at a family fun day

Unfortunately, it's a knife-edge call as to whether my fairly piss-poor luck will manifest this time as a lose.. or a win.

In this case, what's the bloody difference?

Well, exactly... if I lose, I lose. Standard.

And if I win... I also lose. I'll have to retrieve a car from another landmass, which I have certainly done before but generally under more auspicious circumstances.

I'm not completely sure if anywhere even stocks biodiesel in Northern Ireland - there's probably no demand since the locals just fill their Bora and 306 TDis with red derv and smoke them round the backroads...

in the unlikely event of a win, should I spend the £400 or so to bring it back to Belfast... or lease it back to doubleyeller for the princely sum of one Freddo Frog a week?

Or is this why Bucketeer has so many cars??

AutoShite: where self-inflicted misery is a way of life.

I love it.

Although, on further reflection, being able to add:

2017: K-reg Peugeot 106 Diesel (requiring collection from Yorkshire)

to this list of faintly underwhelming prizes does indeed have a certain masochistic appeal.

As does being able to tell folk in work "I just won a car in a raffle!", then watching how their face goes when I show them a picture... hmm.

I might have a need for this, as the ex-purplebargeken Golf is slowly going to Volkswagen heaven, knocking like a diesel, hunting at idle and adding/reducing revs randomly while at a steady speed.

I'll see what finances I can drag from my depressingly empty bank account/ credit cards....

Well folks, I think I have sold all the tickets that are going to sell. I did a little bit of mental arithmetic, and there's enough sold to make back most of what I paid for the car, so lets just run this roffle on Weds night lottery draw and have done!

My idea is this: The first ball drawn out in the main lottery draw is the winner, if it's not a number that sold, second ball number is the winner, and so on.

Fair enough?

We seem to usually implement that system only after the bonus ball is an unclaimed number, but it's your Roffle, so if you want to do it differently, you go ahead :)

Well got to be honest, I'm embarrassed to say that I wasn't sure how roffles are drawn! Fine by me, lets see what the bonus ball is first!
