BorniteIdentity
It will be scrapped / passed on for scrap value. I'm considering finance as I literally don't have two pennies to rub together, and I need a car for picking my son up from the rendezvous point. And nobody dare suggest negotiating with my ex, she's not that kind of person, and we've only just had the court crap sorted.Want my w202? You have a child, it’s xmas, you can pay me on tick. Whatever. oldcars, Rusty_Rocket, alf892 and 15 others

purplebargeken
Can someone please buy this Golf. It is a solid thing with a good chunk of MOT on it. It has a nice tidy GTi interior and virtually mint alloys and tyres. The wheels alone are worth £100 to £150. Surely it can't be that difficult to lob a clutch in it. How much is scrap? purplebargeken
I'd offer the Volvo as a loaner but not sure it'd be the right vehicle for the task in all honesty.
The Reverend Bluejeans
£150 on the scales is a good start. Bornite's offer does indeed restore one's faith in humanity. purplebargeken, oldcars and eddyramrod

The Reverend Bluejeans
Remove interior, drive to the bridge on a milk bottle crate, whip the rims off, weigh. Collect cashiers cheque and chuckle as the four finger grab comes down and plonks it into the baler. oldcars and HMC

My insurance company would screw me on a Mercedes, they threatened to do so when I tried to insure the pink Felicia before its current owner. BorniteIdentity
I think it would definitely raffle at that kind of price. Whether it's the right thing for you - only you can decide. I think there's such a negligible difference between scrap (minus the wheels/interior) and raffle - i'd be taking the path of least resistance and making a few calls this morning about having it cubed. What I would say is it's December, you've clearly got plenty on and it could end up being in the way for a little while whilst the raffle sells out, is executed and the car collected. Good luck either way. The Reverend Bluejeans
purplebargeken
How much are they offering for scrappage? As B said above, it all depends on timescales/space and so on. It would b e great if the car lived on as all said, it is solid and so on and has a lengthy MOT but you have to do what is best for you in the crappy circumstances. Mr_Bo11ox
I would defo do a cartakeback rather than a £1.25 roffle, you just know the winner isn't going to want it! Sigmund Fraud, loserone, The Reverend Bluejeans and 4 others

Or they'll just take the easy option and do a cartakeback themselves. cobblers and The Moog
Parky
Maybe pinch a few useful small bits off it first - lights and switches don't take up a lot of space, maybe a few smaller bits of trim. Might be a way to get another £50 out of it on top of anything cartakeback offer? purplebargeken
purplebargeken
The headlining is a reasonable seller as most had sunroof holes in them. A bit of unscrewing needed but not a major faff.
