Oh no it is alive and well just now has my private plate on it K666HGF on about 254k now and still going strong. I treated it to some new tyres and a servce before it went to France to collect the 202. I did swap a few panels to tidy it up but the poor old girl just attracts damage as my neighbour hit it with a forklift the other night and damaged the tailgate again. It has only really had servicing,  a couple of secondhand air con compressors and an injector seal since I bought it from you. I have got a spare one now as I want to keep it going as long as possible as it is such a good car.

Oh shit I better re check my paperwork as I think he has printed the wrong number. Or more likely I told him the wrong number as my memory is shit at the moment

Ahhhh thanks for pointing that out it should be XVV285 somehow we got it wrong just as well someone is on the ball and checked it for me.

I have got a little more done to the 202 today and it now has a working charging system and a new battery. I also flushed the cooling system out with a dishwasher tab for good measure. The spring has arrived from France but I need to fit some new bronze bushes and ream them out before fitting it. I now have a deadline of next wednesday to get it driving properly as it is booked in for a new exhaust. Once it is all done it won't be staying long with probably only one trip out to a car club meeting on new years day before it gets sold on. I have a buyer who is really keen so it will be off to join a collection in Wales in January.

Nex exhaust fitted today I am just so pissed off with myself for snapping the flange off the manifold. I am fitting the new front spring in the morning after reaming out the new bushes. After that it is just the manifold and it is done.

Exhaust manifold arrived today and fitted. Bloody thing was slightly different and has only gone and cracked when I tightened it up. It isn't blowing though so will do for now. It gets the first real run tomorrow taking it the 30 odd miles to my girlfriends for new year. I did about 15 miles in it this afternoon and it is driving a lot better but is still very slow and doesn't like hills one bit. I will get some final pics over the weekend before it gets sold off in January

That is just lovely! I’ve only ever seen one on the road, but it was in the evening so I got to see the brilliant headlights, luckily.

Please don't blame me when you are sat waiting for the AA !!! It has made the first leg and got me the 30 odd miles to Weston Super Mare. I am going to take it to the classic car meet at Bridgwater on new years day then back home. Then it gets sold as I am itching for something else and have the Rolls to play with so will need the room.

If I were still at my parents' place I'd be sorely tempted to brave Weston-on-Sea just to get a chance to perv over it in the metal.  Sadly I'm now back over the other side of the country.

Well it made it back home stopping off at a car meet on the way back. It is getting better all the time and actually drives quite well, but there is no way I am having another pre-war type car again. They look lovely but drive shit, rubbish wipers and no heater. Car design moved on one hell of a lot after the war. It is now tucked up in the garage until it goes off to a new home.

IMG_5298.JPG

The usual tat at the show but there was this pile of shite that made me chuckle.
