Nice use of an ellipsis.

I took the petrol tank out of our one for cleaning on Friday. Took longer to drain the fuel than it did to get the thing off. Four mounting bolts in the boot (so not rusted) and away it went. Didn't even need to jack it up. Working on prewar cars is a comparative joy, and I hate working on cars.

This one has had the tank redone and painted bright blue !. I got a little bit done to it on Friday namely sorting out the excessive play in the steering. It seems whoever restored it didn't bother fitting the cotter pins into the column coupling properly. They hadn't even put nuts on them so they were working loose and so close to dropping off and the steering failing entirely. The list of jobs is now getting shorter, I need to remove the handbrake cables and have some new ones made. The electrics need going through and some new lights fitted and extra indicators as modern drivers won't understand the semaphores. It also needs some exhaust there is a front pipe and silencer, but the front pipe is a really crap stainless thing and no rear tailpipe. I am looking forward to actually driving it now fingers crossed it isn't as bad as the Juvaquatre I had.
